“Our tasting at J. Lohr was absolutely top-notch. Geraldine, our steward, was exceptional—knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely funny. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. The setting was lovely, the wine selections were fantastic, and the accompanying cheese board was perfect. We even asked about to-go containers when it arrived because it was so generously portioned—but in the end, we happily devoured every morsel. We also appreciated the story behind J. Lohr, which made the experience even more meaningful. Having previously met Steve Peck, VP of Winemaking, at an event in Texas—where his wines were beautifully paired at Capital Grille—made this visit feel like a full-circle moment. “Amazing experience. Great wines and excellent host (Shannon). Must try if you're in Paso. Known for their Cabernet Sauvignon but the Rose and Pinot Noir was excellent too. Tastings are $25 or $50 (premium) but waived if you buy 2 bottles. Will come back!”

“This is a very large winery as a business and many people may not consider visiting. That would be a mistake. Like many other large wineries J Lohr also has some unique, small release wines that taste a lot different from the grocery store fair. We were hosted by Ariane who took very good care of us. Some sips and a lot of conversation later we left very please with our experience. She was knowledgeable, attentive and engaged in the process. Of course it helps we came on a Monday. On weekend one is bound to find large parties drinking a lot and demanding. Not good for those who like to talk. I am glad we came and recommend”
