“I have eaten at a great many Italian restaurants in my life, but I think I may have just found my all time favorite. Service was incredible, and the food… I have never had better. I don’t recall if our server gave us her name but she was incredible. We ordered our 6yo’s cheese pizza early since she takes a while to eat, then drinks, then our entrees. Every time she came to the table, the experience got better and better. I ordered the Limoncello and it absolutely hit the spot. She brought out the bread which already had olive oil and balsamic vinegar drizzled on it. The bread was perfectly crispy on one side and delicately soft on the other. It drank up the oil and vinegar and was the absolute monarch of appetizer bread. I could seriously have eaten that all evening and been completely satisfied. Our daughter shared her pizza with me and the sauce:cheese ratio was perfect. The sauce was not too sweet and perfectly herbed. Not spicy which was great for the kids pizza. I ordered the salmon salad and every bite was amazing. The crisp greens and apple slices paired so well with the creamy goat cheese and soft beet cubes, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. We went big and ordered dessert since everything else was so good and my husband ordered me an affogato without even looking at the dessert menu. He ordered the mini donuts and they got our kiddo a single scoop of vanilla with chocolate sauce. I’m an affogato fan, to say the least, but this was more than I was expecting. A generous scoop of vanilla with the espresso you’d expect, but Mercato went and knocked it out of the park by adding perfectly sweetened whipped cream and chocolate sauce in the espresso. It was to die for!! My husband enjoyed the mini donuts so much, he ordered another to take back to our hotel to share with our friends. All in all, I’ll be coming back to Mercato every time I’m in the area. Incredible vibes, amazing service, and out of this world food. I’ve never enjoyed a dining experience more.”
“Food 11/10, service 11/10. Everything is nothing short of exceptional. We have tried about half of the menu items. With favorites being and pear salad, pizza, the steak, calamari, polenta and the seasonal braised beef. Jason the chef is amazing and Sara really sets a beautiful atmosphere and wonderful dining experience. Will always be back and recommend to friends.”
“I ordered the 3-course meal. It started with eggplant. It was pretty good. I really liked the marinara sauce. The downside was the skin on the eggplant; it was very tough. The main course was the chicken penne. The flavor was good, but the pasta was undercooked, and the chicken was overcooked. The dessert was bread pudding. It was delicious. It came out warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The service was pretty good. Would I go back? Probably not.”
“Subpar experience tonight. This is the 2nd time my family has been seated in a room completely alone with no other restaurant guests. I guess this could be a good thing if you like being alone or have rowdy kids but my kids are older and part of going out to eat is sharing some sort of atmosphere with others. Service was friendly. The food was delicious, the fat spaghetti was a bit plain and the pumpkin ravioli was more like a ravioli soup which was difficult to eat with a fork and not what I expected. We were not offered a bread service until I asked for it. Our bill was over $250 for 5 entrees, 2 appetizers, 1 wine and 3 lemonades. This seemed a bit high so we asked, because we were not given an itemized receipt even after questioning the total. After going home it just didn’t sit well with me because I had peeked at their menu online prior to going in and our total was close to $30 over. After a phone call they mentioned that they charge 10% tax not 9.8 plus 3% for credit cards. Our bill also included 18% gratuity which was fine but it still didn’t match their online prices to which someone finally said that they recently updated their in house prices and their website prices were outdated. Either way that was too hefty a check for a less than perfect experience and not one I wish to repeat.”
“We went on Saturday 12/6 to celebrate our daughter's 15th birthday. 1st time visit. So disappointing. Cocktails and wine were good. Olives and Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp Caprese were a good start. Next we shared the Rigatoni Bolonese, Radiatori, and the Tagliatelle. None of the pasta had any flavor. Needed salt for all three. Just disappointed by the lack of flavor on all three dishes. For dessert we had chocolate cake and doughnuts. The chocolate cake was clearly meant to be a lava cake, but it was ice cold, with a dense chocolate in the center. The doughnuts were also very dense. They felt underproved. But the worst part was once we ordered dessert, our server just stopped clearing the table. So for dessert, we still had a table full of dirty dishes and an empty cocktail glass on the table to the end. She had 5 opportunities to take plates with her and failed to do so. We sat in the front, next to the service station, where many people could see our dirty table, and did nothing about it. Worst dining experience? Far from it. I just expected more. So we were just disappointed. Will not recommend to others.”
