“This is the second time we have eaten here and the flavor of the food is is AMAZING! If you haven’t tried Mesquite at The Warehouse for lunch or dinner you need to put it on your list of great restaurants in Fredericksburg. I had the chopped salad with brisket on top! Flavor was delicious. Also had the Duo appetizer with queso(brisket) and guacamole and fresh chips. Give it a try on your next visit!”
“The food was DELICIOUS. AMAZING. DIVINE. I’d even dare to say better than my southern grandmothers cooking…. Though off the beaten path this spot is worth the stop. We had the crab cakes. Chef kiss to sneaking in the secret ingredient to what I assume is the remoulade sauce. Then onto the flatiron steak. Simply juicy and so so tender. Lastly we had the fried Okra….now…that….Michelin star worthy. 🤌🏻 We’d also love to complement our fabulous server Isabella. She was very sweet and attentive. She gave us some great guidance through the menu!”
“Mesquite at the Warehouse (in the back of the historic Woerner Warehouse) is a must-do when in Fredericksburg Texas. Don’t be fooled by the rustic exterior of rusted tin and weathered wood -- they are a modern, upscale southern dining concept. Rows of exposed wood beams rise above your head as you sit at the polished wood bar. The creaky wooden floor adds a touch of antiquity to offset the contemporary wall dressings. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and they were able to explain a new wine we wanted to try – A 2023 blend called Parallele 45 from the Cotes-Du-Rhone wine valley region in France. It was excellent Vint of Grenache, Syrah, Marsanne, and Carignan -- and we put down the entire bottle! Along with the delectable slow roasted meats, locally grown produce, house made sweets, and hand-crafted bread, Mesquite at the Warehouse tries to embody excellence around all aspects of the great Texas hospitality. For starters we had the tangy pimento & corn chips. For entrees we had the Wagyu Cut of the Day, Potato Fries, and a side of Fried Okra, as well as the Shrimp & Grits. These homemade dishes were absolutely wonderful! There was also a fun little ending – the ticket was placed in an original manilla bill holder that patrons who shopped in the warehouse would use to pay for their goods. We love this historic place and highly recommend it! Salute!! - The Outpost Cabin, Fredericksburg, Texas.”
“Our reservation was for a party of six, and we were seated promptly upon arrival. The service was attentive and friendly throughout, matching the warm and inviting atmosphere others have noted in their reviews . Now, onto the food, which was the real star of the show. For my main course, I ordered the hanger steak, and it was cooked to perfection! Juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I have to give a special shout-out to their house steak sauce, which complemented the meat beautifully without overpowering it. My wife opted for the filet and was thoroughly impressed, it was tender, cooked exactly as requested, and rivaled any steakhouse we've visited. We also had the chance to sample the BBQ plate, which was very good. But the surprises came with the sides. The Miners potatoes were terrificly crispy, seasoned well, and incredibly satisfying. Even a simple side of broccoli tasted fresh and vibrant, a testament to their emphasis on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients . And you absolutely cannot skip their coleslaw as it's a standoud. Delicious with a perfect balance of creaminess and crunch. To top it all off, the drinks were elegant and delicious. Whether you're a fan of craft cocktails or just looking for a well-made beverage, the bar program here does not disappoint. It’s worth noting that other guests have raved about specialties like the pecan old fashioned, so we knew we were in good hands . Overall, Mesquite at the Warehouse provided a flawless dining experience for our group. Whether you're looking for a perfectly cooked steak, excellent BBQ, or just a great cocktail in a historic setting, this is the place to be. We can't wait to come back”
“I was moderately impressed with this place. We got the bread and butter appetizer and that was actually extremely good. It was a sweet honey butter and the bread was so warm, soft, and delicious! However, we came for steak and the steak lacked. My husband got the tri-tip and it was gray (he ordered medium-rare and it was far past). No crust (i.e., Maillard reaction) on the outside. It was slightly tough, but the flavor was good and smoky - texture was the most off putting thing. He also got the jalapeño cream corn and said it needed salt. I got the NY strip and wasn’t wildly impressed nor badly disappointed, but it was a decent steak. It had the consistency of a baked steak, no crust/Maillard on the outside. It was a perfect medium-rare in the middle, but it was such a bad cut that the ends were tough and there was a decent amount of non-rendered, tough fat. The miners potatoes were actually really good and the house steak sauce was DELICIOUS. But I came for the steak, and the steak was the most lacking part of the meal. The price did not match the quality. I expected a better cut of NY strip for $65. Lastly got the skillet cookie and it was very gooey and moist! Would come back for that, 100%. Service was great, the building is very nice, but I wish that the quality of the food was equivalent to the high price.”
