“Mr. B’s Bistro delivered one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in New Orleans. The BBQ shrimp was absolutely unforgettable, perfectly cooked shrimp in a rich, buttery, peppery sauce that had everyone at the table reaching for more bread to soak up every last drop. It’s the kind of dish you keep talking about long after dinner is over. A special thank you to Jordan, our waiter, who made the experience exceptional. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, offering great recommendations and making sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Outstanding food, outstanding service, and a true New Orleans dining experience. I’ll definitely be back soon.”

“My friend and I went to Mr. B’s Bistro for dinner on May 31st and loved it! Jourdan, our waiter, was so attentive and kind, answering any questions we had, and he made great recommendations. The host seated us in the “presidential seat” where President Reagan sat which was really cool. We ordered the filet mignon and the American red snapper and both were delicious, then we had the lemon ice box pie for dessert. We loved the style and ambience of the restaurant and would definitely dine here again when we revisit New Orleans.”

“I went twice on my birthday trip. My first night I went for my birthday dinner based off of the recommendation of the concierge at my hôtel. I arrived about 30 minutes early and was Sat immediately. Lacy was my server. She was awesome! Food came out hot and the BBQ shrimp was fantastic. I went back Monday night as my last meal before my flight Tuesday morning. Fried green tomatoes were just as good as before. The BBQ shrimp was good, but not really hot and my loaf of bread was hard. That would be my only down side. I wanted the same repeat service. I will still visit because I do understand things happen...”

“We came here specifically to try their gumbo ya-ya (with chicken & andouille), because I’ve used their recipe to make it at home from a magazine article years before we ever visited. Mine is actually pretty close! We also tried the frozen milk punch (it’s boozy), as suggested by Aunt Cindy’s niece Lexie. It was a great dessert drink. The fried oysters were next-level incredible. Their seafood gumbo was also delicious, as were their fried chicken (only available Wednesdays) & their barbecue shrimp (served with heads & whole, as our server cautioned us). It was messier than any lobster I’ve ever eaten for sure! Pecan pie for dessert went well with the milk punch. And who can resist a $1.50 Bloody Mary (lunch hour only). This was a really solid place for lunch. There was a fairly even mix of folks in business casual drag as well as a bunch of others in “tourist casual” mode; the staff was cordial to everyone regardless of attire. Thankfully the “tourist casual” we saw hadn’t sunk to tank tops though! If you’re looking for a perfectly executed meal of New Orleans classics, Mr. B’s Bistro delivers!!”

“This was out first visit to Mr. B's Bistro, and we will definitely be back! We went for lunch on a Friday - it was very busy (30 min wait for a table for 2) but there was seating at the bar with a full menu so we sat there right away. We read that the BBQ Shrimp was not to be missed, and that they had a phenomenal cocktail deal on Wed-Fri before 2pm ($1.50 house bloody mary's or martinis with entree order) , both of those recommendations were spot on. We tried the BBQ shrimp appetizer (half-order), and then the Gumbo Ya-Ya and Shrimp & Grits entrees. The Gumbo was great - a very dark roux, wonderful flavor, I would have preferred a bit more broth/roux, but it was great (the photo is deceiving, bowl is not as deep as it appears). The Shrimp & Grits were fantastic - bacon wrapped Shrimp were awesome, grits were very creamy with great flavor, and the sauce was a little sweet so complimented the Shrimp and grits well. The star if the show was definitely the BBQ Shrimp- probably the best I've ever had. It is messy, so plan accordingly and expect this, but they provide a bib, and its worth it. The broth is fantastic, shrimp cooked perfectly, and bread to sop up as much as you can. The $1.50 cocktail deal was great - they are smaller versions, and use house liquor, but the food was the focus, and its a fantastic deal. I would highly recommend Mr. B's, cant wait to return!”
