“The Omakase at Nakama is Philly’s Best Kept Secret My wife and I checked out the Omakase at Nakama and honestly…. We were not ready for how good it was. This is my #1 restaurant recommendation in Philadelphia now, no debate. 15 courses cooked right in front of you by a chef who clearly loves what he does. He kept the whole experience fun and engaging. You could tell he and his team really put their heart into the menu. Every dish hit differently, but somehow it all just flowed together perfectly. It’s BYOB. At the end of the night I asked the chef if he wanted to enjoy a glass of Sake with my wife and I to cheers to the amazing experience, and he was kind enough to join us! It’s not everyday you get to enjoy a glass of Sake with such an incredible sushi chef, which was such a cool touch. Seriously, if you’re in Philly, you should go. You won’t regret it.”

“It was my first time coming to Nakama and it was such a wonderful experience. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, the restaurant and space is very clean and service was quick without ever making us feel rushed. The quality of the food is amazing and is some of the best quality sushi I have had in quite some time. I tried their special roll of the day and it was delicious. The other person in my party got the ramen set and it was a perfect amount of food. We also got desserts, sweet potato cheese cake and strawberry cream cake and both were delicious as well. We made a reservation and were seated as soon as we walked in the door, they have music playing but not loud enough to impede the ability to have a conversation. It was just enough that everyone could still feel like their conversation was just for their table. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish and I only wish I took more pictures before we started eating! I will definitely be back!”

“went here with my gf on a tuesday night and had an amazing omakase experience with chef Mitsu! all the food was delicious beyond expectation, and everything that normally would have tasted mid/okay became absolutely delicious in their courses (for example i personally don’t like uni but in their omakase course uni tasted exceptional) will definitely be back again soon for another experience !”

“I have know idea why these place has soo high reviews. The broth for the ramen has no flavor, the noodles in it are basic one you can get from an instant ramen, the karage not flavorful at all and forget about the sushi roll. I feel these was grocery store quality. The ones you get to have a quick lunch and you are not expecting a lot. Hope they can improve the flavor in their food.”
