Nixtaco is a quality-focused retail specialty taquería, locally owned since 2015. Nixtaco is committed to sourcing and using the finest ingredients while preserving traditional technique. We’re proud to have started this venture in the Sacramento region, California’s capital, where lingo like “farm to fork”, local, sustainable, and organic have become so mainstream they convey nothing new. We do what we do, not because it's a fad and everybody's on the bandwagon, but because it's the right way and we believe in it. We are working very hard, traveling, tasting and researching in order to bring you the best and most authentic flavors. We hope you enjoy them and support true, "Farm to Tacos".
“Just had an awesome time at Nixtaco! Our server, Paisley, was super nice and really attentive. The guacamole is always a hit, and it did not disappoint this time either. I went for the pork belly taco and OMG, it was the best taco I've ever had! The queso birria was delicious too, and I can't stop thinking about the peanut chipotle salsa—it was seriously heavenly. Plus, they've got some great vegan options, which is a nice bonus. Overall, fantastic food and great vibes! Can’t wait to go back! 🌮🥑”
“My wife and I stopped by Nixtaco and honestly had an amazing experience. The food was absolutely bomb from the first bite to the last. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The tacos were packed with flavor, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole vibe even better. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was great, and the service was quick without feeling rushed. My wife and I both kept talking about how good everything was even after we left. Definitely one of the best taco spots we’ve been to, and we’ll for sure be coming back again soon. Highly recommend this place if you want authentic food with great flavor and awesome service.”
“This restaurant is dark but clean. The music is a bit loud which may make holding conversation challenging. I ordered a drink and it came with a paper straw. No thanks to ingesting trace amounts of glue. ¡Guácala! They served chips and salsa with my order. The salsas were advertised as spicy. Ha! May be spicy to some but not I. The roadkill burrito was decent. However, it left me wanting more flavor. The carnitas taco was drenched in an excessive amount of lime juice to the point I was unable to finish the taco. Additionally, most of the carnitas was excessively chewey where it should have been tender. The paper they serve the food on gets moist and falls apart. Be sure to move your food off the paper or it will become a part of your meal. Five dollars for an ice tea and no refills? It seems the Michelin award has gone to their heads!”
“This experience was really disappointing. I had high expectations because of the hype, but nothing really stood out—everything felt pretty mediocre. I’ve definitely had better tacos and overall experiences at places that cost half the price. The food is picture-perfect, but that’s honestly it. I don’t mind paying more if the food and service are worth it, but that wasn’t the case here. The salsa was just okay, nothing special, and the service was slow. We even asked for something that was completely forgotten. Overall, it didn’t live up to the reputation at all. This was my first and last visit—I’m honestly not sure what makes this place so special.”
“The presentation looks great, and the food tastes decent, but paying over $100 for a few tacos and drinks doesn’t feel justified. In particular, the food felt as though it had cooled and was served close to room temperature, and the fact that items like lime were not provided is a downside. the servers were exceptionally friendly, which was very impressive. It seems the Bib Gourmand badge has pushed the prices higher for the quality.”
