“We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and especially the food. Timing was perfect as each item was brought out just after we finished the last. As we pulled in, we saw a chef in the garden harvesting food for meals. Love the garden to table aspect! Although it was a splurge for us, it was well worth it!”
“This was the most memorable meal of my life. Better than The French Laundry, The Restaurant at Meadowood, Auberge du Soleil in Napa, Daniel in NYC, Restaurant Le Taillevent or Alain Ducasse in Paris. Every bite of every dish was an explosion of flavor - making me wonder how could they come up with that combination. The Crispy Halibut was crunchy on the outside, moist in the center and accented with ramp gribiche and salmon roe. The chicken breast poached in stock with a morel, ramps sauce was rich with every bite inviting another. The Lamb Wellington made me feel like a king, only to be outdone by the A5 wagyu strip with a porcini mushroom bordelaise. Wine pairings were the best match of my culinary life - ranging from vintage champagne, white bordeaux, german riesling, rhone, red bordeaux and California cabernet. Every wine perfectly matched to the dish is ways beyond the imagination. As a foodie from Napa and Master of Wine student, I was blown away with the creativity and excellence. The service was attentive and engaging, proper without pretension, precise without being overly fussy. No attitude here, just wanting to share something extremely special with guests. Whether you are looking for the bucket list dining experience or wanting to create unforgettable memories with a loved one - look no further than Oak Park. The owner, Kathy Fehrman, is making a mark that shouldn't be ignored.”
“Truly a 5 star experience from beginning to end. They start by taking your coat and keeping it warm for you and delivering a very special message based upon what you put in the comments in your reservation. The servers and hostesses are very welcoming. The food is absolutely inspiring, you can eat any of the dishes and may not like individually the flavor of a particular piece then it just hits you when it all comes together in your mouth, like it was made with intent, everything on the plate just melds together in your mouth with a delicious after effect. The changing menu has me coming back to try their new dishes every few months. If you have never tried fine dining before, I would highly recommend you give this gem a try at least once. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you find as much happiness as I do when trying their dishes.”
“10/10! Oak Park is a truly lovely and top notch dining experience without the snootiness. Atmosphere is peaceful, servers are professional, friendly, and so knowledgeable. Anthony was our server and elevated the experience just that much more. The sweet corn ravioli small plate was probably the best thing I have ever had, with the flavors just unfolding… it truly told a story. Everything was amazing. The spirit-free cocktail list was also a real treat. My mom and I went, and here’s was we ordered: Drop It Like It’s Hot mocktail, Cabernet Savignon Franc (x 2), sweet corn ravioli, beef carpaccio, crab bucatini, Amish chicken, raspberry soufflé, and an espresso. Bill was ~$213 before tax/tip. OH — and the chef was not happy with the first chicken he prepared for me so they gave us two caviar cones on the house while we waited. The most surprising moment, though, was when a guest at the table beside us said she had forgotten her glasses and our server went to a cabinet in the dining room and brought her a pair of readers without missing a beat. I mean…”
“My wife and I have dined at Oak Park before and had a wonderful experience, so we have been looking forward to coming back for a long time. Yesterday we finally returned to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it was also our first date night without our baby in 8 months, which made the evening very special for us. Overall, many dishes were excellent. The Caviar Cone is still our favorite and just as memorable as we remembered. The Potato Gnocchi was surprisingly good, and the oysters with garlic butter were delicious. The lobster ravioli had great flavor, although it was slightly on the salty side. The Oak Park Caesar salad looked different from our previous visit but was very refreshing. My wife also enjoyed the Chilean sea bass, which was fresh and cooked beautifully. Unfortunately, the lamb pie that I ordered was quite disappointing. The sauce was extremely salty and overwhelmed the entire dish. I mentioned this to the waitress when she cleared the plates, but there was no follow-up or acknowledgment afterward. Given the restaurant’s reputation and price point, I expected a little more attention to customer feedback, especially when something goes wrong with a main course. That said, we still appreciate many aspects of the meal and the memories we’ve had here. We hope the kitchen and service team will take feedback like this seriously so the experience can continue to match the high standards Oak Park is known for.”
