“Fantastic seafood spot right on the water with an awesome atmosphere and view. Sitting outside overlooking the marina while boats came in made the whole experience feel relaxing and laid back in the best way. The food was excellent across the board, especially the tacos and wings. The tacos were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly, and the wings had a great texture and seasoning with really good sauces. Everything came out fresh and well prepared. The outdoor seating area was one of the best parts of the experience. Great breeze, beautiful waterfront views, and just an all-around fun place to sit and enjoy a meal. Definitely one of those places where you end up wanting to stay longer than planned. Would absolutely come back again.”

The atmosphere alone is worth the visit; nestled right on the Neuse River, the panoramic views are absolutely fantastic, making it an ideal spot to relax and take in the Inner Banks scenery. The food truly stands out. My table enjoyed the pork chops and chicken, both of which were ridiculously tender and flavorful; you could definitely tell the chef can cook! The service was efficient and friendly, contributing to the restaurant’s warm, elegant-yet-casual coastal ambiance. Whether you’re planning a romantic date night, a relaxed family outing, or just meeting friends for drinks on the water, Persimmons fits the bill perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend trying this New Bern waterfront destination for a memorable culinary experience.”

“This is my go-to restaurant whenever I’m in New Bern. I’ve been here several times (and usually in the same trips), and it’s been a great experience each visit—both during the day and in the evening. The food is always delicious, and the drinks are excellent. My son was able to get a mocktail, and our server made a great recommendation. The service is consistently good (with some servers being friendlier than others), but the biggest plus is the beautiful outdoor and waterfront seating. It’s also within walking distance of the Courtyard Marriott hotel which is convenient if you stay there and the downtown area.”

“We stop here for the first time. Everything was amazing. The staff was super nice. We had Julia as our server and she was amazing! I got the Peppercorn Chicken that comes with mashed potatoes, and broccoli. It was sooo good! My husband got the fried Seafood Platter that had lobster, shrimp, and flounder. His came with huge hushpuppies and a nice portion of slaw. The wedge salad was a very nice portion. The Hawaiian roles with the Thai honey butter was so good as well.”
