Pick & Cheese - Seven Dials

“Excellent - would strongly recommend a visit. The cheeses are great, but perhaps not obviously much better than what I’d get for a charcuterie at home. But the pairings are brilliant - we got to taste so many unusual and delightful flavor combinations that we’ve never tried before. Would recommend trying out the weirder cheese pairings (eg: honeyed garlic, shortbread, kimchi), and perhaps even skipping the chorizo/salami.”

“I’ve had this place bookmarked for ages and was so happy we could eventually get here. Set up is like a Japanese sushi conveyor belt restaurant. You get a paper menu with the types and cheese and what they are paired with. The number on the menu matches the dish. Plates vary in price depending on the colour. We wanted to try as many as possible so we shared each plate. All the cheeses (I think) are British and there was a fab selection.”

“Totally unexpected and such a delight. The experience is fantastic, service was superior, and the food was excellent. Getting past the novelty the quality stood on its own! Get reservations, it’s worth it. We had multiple plates off of the conveyor and ordered off of the menu. Drinks were super good and the price was reasonable for the service and quality. Will definitely go back!”

“You are only allowed 1hr 15mins which meant we had to leave with nearly a full glass of wine and the place was so busy we had no where to stand or sit. Terrible way to end a unique experience with an excellent waiter. You could tell staff really felt this needed to change. It's not like they'd loose out, We definitely would have kept spending! Cheese and combos delicious”

“I love the fact that Pick & Cheese champions an all-British cheese menu. It is a commendable idea, and full points for the variety on offer as well as the novel (at least in the world of cheese) way of serving. However, I thought the cheeses were not as fabulous as their Continental counterparts. I would have tried about 10 different ones, and whilst all of them were undoubtedly of good quality, I got the feeling that Pick & Cheese have a lot more left to achieve. One small sore point was that when we approached one staff member as we were entering, and told her we wanted to sit on proper tables (ie not bar stools) as we had children, she suggested we should sit on any of the tables on the food court and order from the takeaway menu (a much-abridged version of the full menu). The right answer, which an enterprising staff member then provided, would have been to direct us to a booth right by the conveyor belt, so we get the full menu as well as a 'proper sit-in'. Anyway, we got what we wanted. Not that Pick & Cheese needs my wishes, but I do wish them all the success. Good job, guys!!”
