“I went there for my daughters birthday. It was our first time. We had so much fun and the manager and server were very nice. The food was delicious and I absolutely loved the soup.”
“This place is absolutely beautiful! The atmosphere is magical, and every detail makes the experience feel special. Sophia took great care of us, and her recommendations were excellent. She was friendly, attentive, and made our visit even better. The food was a perfect 10/10-every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. Out of all the places I've visited, this is easily in my top 3, and honestly, it's my number one favorite. I absolutely love this place and can't wait to come back. Highly recommended!”
“My daughter and I, along with my best friend and her daughter (both daughters are in their 20s, just for reference that they are not young children) had an absolutely delightful afternoon Mother’s Day tea at the Cake Bake Shop in Carmel. Everything was perfect from start to finish, including the weather! We sat on indoor patio with the windows open and it was just the best day. There were 6 choices of tea as well as all their lemonade drinks and punches (non-alcoholic) included in our price. We all had the Carcadet Nuit D’été tea which was light, fruity and had a hint of rose in it. We had slices of orange and lemon, honey, sugar cubes, and sweeteners available. To start, we were served a Lemon Blueberry Scone with clotted cream, European butter, and house made hibiscus jam. This scone was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten and we all agreed. Absolutely scrumptious! Next course was the Chicken Velvet soup which Cake Bake is known for and it was delicious as usual. We then had finger sandwiches of chicken salad, pimento cheese, and cucumber and goat cheese, as well as an endive boat filled with roasted veggie cream cheese. The chicken salad was the star but all were very good. For dessert we had macarons, chocolate truffles, red velvet cake, champagne cake, lemon bars, and raspberry bars. After all the savory food we had earlier, we were all quite full and our wonderful server boxed all our remaining treats to take home. My daughter has a tree nut allergy and all her sandwiches and desserts were served on a separate tiered tray. Service was impeccable and of course, the decor was just beautiful. It was definitely a splurge, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. So worth it to be treated like queens for a day. Highly recommend!”
“What a wonderful experience for my wife and toddler. Walking up to Cake Bake just sets a visual tone for a special experience. My son had so much fun looking at the Christmas decorations and even more fun looking at all the beautiful baked goods. The creme rules latte my wife got was wonderful. I loved the walnut brownie warmed up with ice cream. Must visit place”
“The Cake Bake Shop in Carmel is still a beautiful place, and visually it continues to be one of its strongest points. The atmosphere is charming and definitely part of the appeal, especially for first-time visitors. That said, the overall experience feels average these days. Service is fine but unremarkable, and the food is decent without really standing out. A noticeable detail is that arugula salad seems to come with almost everything, and unfortunately, it’s not the best version of it. The desserts remain the highlight and are still very good—arguably the main reason to come here. However, it feels like some of the small details that once made this place truly memorable have been lost over time. For a first visit or a date, it can still work well thanks to the ambiance. But after multiple visits over the years, the little shortcomings become more noticeable, and the experience doesn’t feel quite the same anymore.”
