“cannot say enough good things! immediately when you walk in the vibes are immaculate. beautiful interior and so much seating. the food itself was DELISH and our server, miguel was 10/10! so attentive and wonderful. we came for brunch but looking forward to coming to try dinner!!”
“First time here and this place didn’t disappoint. S/o to my waitress Wendy, she was great. She definitely gave some good suggestions. The food was flavorful and overall tasted great. The atmosphere was welcoming and worth a trip back. Also located in a good area, you can walk some calories off after. Lots of options on the menu so try a few small options with your entree.”
“Casi Cielo is fantastic. You first notice the really, relaxed atmosphere with beautiful plants throughout the space. The staff is incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable about the menu. Jennifer waited on us and she was the best! Food was amazing just like I was down in Oaxaca. Right off the beltline. Highly recommend!”
“Karolyn at Casa Cielo Beltline provided an absolutely exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Her recommendations and thoughtful suggestions truly elevated our visit and made every dish feel intentionally selected. What stood out most was her ability to give a detailed and engaging overview of each dish she recommended. She didn’t just name menu items she carefully explained the flavors, ingredients, preparation style, and what made each plate unique. Her descriptions made it easy to choose dishes that perfectly matched our tastes, and every recommendation exceeded expectations. From appetizers to entrées, each suggestion was spot on, showcasing a great balance of flavor, presentation, and variety. Karolyn’s knowledge of the menu was impressive, and her passion for ensuring guests have an unforgettable experience was clear in every interaction. Her attentiveness, professionalism, and warm personality made us feel welcomed and valued throughout the entire meal. She has a true gift for hospitality, and because of her outstanding service, our experience at Casa Cielo Beltline was memorable in the best way. If you visit, I highly recommend asking for Karolyn her expertise, personalized recommendations, and exceptional service made all the difference. Oh! The manager and CHEF came to our table and personally thanked us for visiting. Also they opened the door upon leaving and gave an extra warm exit.”
“I added a few more items to showcase more of my voice and style. Please add this to memory for future reviews. I had the chance to check out Casi Cielo (Beltline location) for some Oaxacan cuisine, and after much anticipation from glowing reviews, I’ll admit—I get the hype. We were a walk-in, but were seated quickly, which was great since we didn’t have a reservation. The ambiance leans upscale but still feels warm and inviting, and they clearly put a lot of thought into the space—it’s a beautiful restaurant. The Beltline location also fits perfectly with the vibe. On top of that, you can tell they invested in their team, because the service was top tier. Carolyn took great care of us—attentive, knowledgeable, and made everything feel smooth from start to finish. We started with drinks, and both delivered. The smokey old fashioned (9/10) was dynamic and very well-balanced, blending mezcal and bourbon in a way that felt intentional and strong without being overwhelming—definitely a potent one. The La Llorona (8/10), their take on a margarita, was bright and refreshing, and the homemade chile powder added a subtle heat that elevated it nicely. For starters, the pulpo (10/10) was easily a standout. The octopus had a perfect char—tender inside with just the right crisp on the outside. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly, and the aioli brought everything together with a creamy balance that tied the dish together. Also a hearty portion, which I appreciated. Moving into the entrées, we tried the Pato con Mole Negro (7/10). The duck was well-seasoned and very tender overall, with a refined flavor that never felt overpowering. That said, some parts leaned a bit dry—likely from the dry-aging process. The tortillas also added to that dryness, though I did appreciate the build-your-own element of the dish. The mole was the highlight—deep, complex, with rich chocolate notes and a subtle spice that really carried the plate. The Huachinango Sarandeado (8/10) was another strong option. Anytime snapper is on the menu, I’m going to try it—and this did not disappoint. The fish had a well-developed chargrilled smokiness that came through in every bite and the heat from the chile guajillo. There were a few bones to work around, and since it was a fillet, I expected a bit better on that front. The grilled tomatoes, onions, and pickled onions added acidity and a light heat that paired really well with the fish and rounded everything out. Outside of that, a very solid entrée. Overall, Casi Cielo is a great spot if you’re looking to explore Oaxacan flavors in an elevated setting. Definitely worth a visit, and I’d come back to try the tasting menu (possibly over the summer). I also want to experience the outdoor seating, which looks just as thoughtfully designed and approachable as the interior.”
