Beginning with a few classic recipes culled from our chef’s family and friends, the menu captured the true spirit of Mexico. And its authentic style drew a loyal following of those in search of Sonoran grilled swordfish tacos, sizzling sirloin fajitas, and spicy rich chicken mole.Over three decades, our signature friendly service and festive decor have made Miguel’s a San Diego tradition for locals and visitors alike. Our commitment to artisan cuisine has only grown stronger. That means handmade tortillas, fresh salsas, and colorful crispy chips made daily right in our kitchen. Of course, there’s our decadent, must-have jalapeño white sauce, occasionally referred to as white gold by regulars, and craved up and down the coast. We invite you to stop in. Enjoy a refreshing hand-shaken margarita and a genuine, mouthwatering Mexican meal. Lets celebrate what we hope will be your first of many, many visits.
“Food was delicious! We had the Vegetable Enchiladas and the Chili Relleno. Draft beer was cold. The Raspberry Mojito and Mango Chamoy were both very tasty. We sat at the bar close to open doors by tbe ocean. Bartenders were very attentive and were always busy! The view of the harbor was beautiful at sunset. Highly recommend this place!”
“Absolutely loved the Passion Fruit Margarita here! Delicious. Great service from everyone we encountered. Loved August, the bartender. Beautiful views and delicious foods. They are very helpful and accommodating for gluten free needs and take care to cater to your allergy needs”
“Love that they served queso with chips n salsa. It was very yummy. The atmosphere was energetic and we loved the nachos and chimichanga. The ceviche was pretty good. Our server kinda forgot about us and we had to wait 30 minutes for a table but overall we really enjoyed it.”
“This restaurant is situated within an exceptional environmental setting. The culinary quality is maintained at a high standard, complemented by optimal service efficiency. The outdoor seating configuration provides a significant panoramic perspective which enhances the overall experience. The beer selection is of high quality. Although the mixology offerings were not personally evaluated, their visual presentation appears favorable. This restaurant is recommended for those seeking a superior experiential outcome.”
“We enjoyed a pleasant first visit to Miguel’s Cocina after a nice walk nearby. The restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere, and we appreciated the flexibility of outdoor seating. We particularly liked the complimentary hot cheese dip with tortilla chips—a perfect blend of cheese and spices that started our meal well. We ordered Miguel’s Burger and a Taco Platter. Both dishes arrived beautifully prepared and presented, with excellent flavor and quality. The photos attached show how appetizing they looked. We would gladly return to enjoy the food again. One area that could be improved is the service flow. There was some initial confusion with entrance and seating procedures since we entered through a side door shared with other businesses (no signage indicated otherwise). Additionally, it took quite a while to receive assistance for simple needs such as drink refills, adjusting the awning, ordering, and settling the bill. A bit more attentiveness in these areas would make the overall experience even smoother and more enjoyable for guests. Overall, Miguel’s Cocina serves very good food in a convenient location. With a few small adjustments to service, it could become an even stronger spot for repeat visitors. We appreciate the effort and recommend giving it a try.”
