Mexico City born. California raised. Puesto brings the vibrant soul of CDMX through a Southern California lens-bold, modern Mexican with an edge. Seasonal menus, creative takes, and the best ingredients in the hands of better chefs. Every tortilla starts with organic blue corn, made in-house like it's been since 1200 BC. Puesto is family-founded by the Adler and Lombrozo brothers, first-gen Mexican Americans raised on tamales and tradition. It's a love letter to the flavors they grew up with, reimagined with Mexico City energy and SoCal spirit. Made by food people. For food people.
“This is a good restaurant and has very good upscale Mexican food. Their steak taco is one of my favorites. On this occasion there was a special smash burger taco which was very good, beef patty with cheese, onions and sauce. The margarita is very good. The chips and salsa are complimentary and very good. Not cheap to eat here but I do enjoy it.”
“Decided to dine here on a whim and it was the best pleasant surprise. I got the Chicken Al Pastor tacos that consists of hibiscus & chipotle tinga, avocado, and piña habanero pico. Literally the best tacos I’ve probably had in a long time. Salsa trio was phenomenal and so was the guacamole flight. Overall, can’t wait to dine here again as it’s definitely a new favorite!!”
“Delicious food, good vibes, and great service! We mixed and matched couple tacos and they were all very good and with outstanding quality ingredients. I also highly reccomend to order the chicken bowl or the chicken enchiladas, for me they are the best dishes on the menu. Lastly, we also tried the nogada guacamole which was insane, definitely a must have. We really enjoyed our experience and definitely will be coming back!”
“If possible, visit on Taco Tuesday when all tacos are half off. This makes the prices much more reasonable as they are fairly expensive. We started with chips and salsa and added the salsa bar. We liked the original chips and salsa, but we didn't really care for any of the additional salsas that came with the bar. I then had the chicken and short rib tacos and my daughter had the filet mignon and carnitas tacos. I really liked mine, but she thought her tacos were just ok. The decor and atmosphere was great. We sat out on the patio, and it was a great spot to enjoy the weather. This is a great spot for a girls night out or for after work drinks.”
“Went there for Cinco de Mayo Taco Tuesday for their 1/2 off taco special. The chips and salsa were very good. Chips were nice, salty and warm. The salsa wasn't very spicy, I can handle spice really well, and more of a roasted salsa. I ordered a Watermelon margarita ($20) and swapped the tequila for mezcal. It had a nice smokey flavor from the mezcal, but after mixing the mint and squeezing some of the lime juice in there, it sweetened the drink up nicely. Very tasty drink. I ordered two tacos, a crispy chicken taco ($6) and a tamarind shrimp taco ($6) , for $12 which was the happy hour price. The chicken taco was not too great. I feel the either chicken or the fried cheese was fried a bit too long because their was a bitter flavor coming the taco. The aji armarillo slaw was cool and tasty, but it could have used more to cover up that bitter taste. The tamarind shrimp taco was by far the best of the two. It came off more on the sweet side but putting the roasted red salsa on the taco put it up to an 11! The blue corn tortillas for either of the tacos were not crispy at all. Just cooked enough to hold together when folded for eating. There is no option, at least I didn't see any, to switch from the blue corn tortillas. I do want to stop by again to try their other tacos, which they had quite the selection to choose from.”
