“Murphy’s Restaurant is one of those places that makes brunch feel like a special occasion. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing meal with friends or family. The brunch menu offers something for everyone, with plenty of delicious options that are both creative and satisfying. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. While the food was outstanding, the cocktails truly stole the show. The brunch drink menu is packed with expertly crafted options that perfectly complement the meal. Whether you prefer a classic brunch cocktail or something a little more unique, Murphy’s delivers with quality ingredients and great flavor in every sip. The drinks were balanced, refreshing, and made our brunch experience even more enjoyable. Between the incredible brunch selections, fantastic cocktails, and inviting atmosphere, Murphy’s Restaurant is a spot we will gladly visit again. It’s the perfect destination for a memorable brunch outing.”
“There is a reason Murphy’s has been the heartbeat of the Virginia-Highland neighborhood for over 40 years. Whether you’re sitting in the cozy, sun-drenched atrium or grabbing a bottle from their curated on-site wine shop, it feels like the quintessential Atlanta dining experience. The Menu: Elevated Comfort Food While the ownership has recently passed to the longtime executive chef and his son, the soul of the menu remains as strong as ever. • The Guinness-Braised Brisket: This is a non-negotiable order. The meat is incredibly tender, rich with deep malty notes, and served with velvety mashed potatoes. It’s the ultimate comfort dish. • Brunch Favorites: If you're here on the weekend, the Eggs T. Murphy (their take on Benedict) or the Eggs Virginia Highland (with sun-dried tomato hollandaise) are local legends. Don’t forget the warm basket of fresh biscuits and muffins to start. • The Bonzo Cake: You cannot leave without a slice of the Bonzo. It’s a decadent layers of brownie and cheesecake that has a cult following for a reason. Wine & Service One of the best "secrets" about Murphy’s is the Wine Bar. Their selection is easily one of the best in the city, and the Tuesday night wine tastings are a fantastic way to engage with the community. The service is consistently professional yet warm—many of the staff have been here for years, which speaks volumes about the culture. The Verdict Murphy’s manages to be both a "special occasion" spot and a "regular Tuesday night" haunt. In a city where restaurants come and go, Murphy’s remains a gold standard for consistency and neighborhood charm.”
“Murphy’s did not disappoint. I hadn’t been to this restaurant in 25 years but had some lunch snacks here today with family and the food was of high quality and value. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere. You really feel like you are in the heart of Virginia Highland. Our food was presented perfectly. Yummy flatbread with butternut squash figs and blue cheese and burrata with mushrooms. Their classic crab cake was as delicious as I remembered. We left with full bellies and big smiles!”
“Wonderful New Year's Day brunch. Hafsa was our extraordinary server. She was fiendly and efficient! The place was busy but quick service. They have a broad drink menu with specialty drinks, wine, and mocktails. Daily soup, sandwiches, salads...and save room for dessert.”
“I had high hopes for the restaurant. Location is great and service was good. The biscuit and muffin were tasty. The chai tea was refreshing. The artichokes were bland and would not recommend. The waffle and chicken sausage were good, but just average. The cheeseburger was aweful , the meat was dry and so was the bun. What i ordered was 3 star food at best.....but maybe they had a bad day”
