Located at the famed Opera Terrace atop the historic Grade II-listed Market Building, this striking space is a vibrant new addition to the area. Crowned by an Eric Parry-designed glass roof, the restaurant runs along the entire east side of the market making for beautiful rooftop views across the piazza. Bold in design, SUSHISAMBA Covent Garden offers a host of inviting dining and drinking experiences: from the bar with its ‘living ceiling’; the exposed kitchen to the terrace overlooking the square below and the private dining room with its own entrance and terrace.
“SUSHISAMBA is much more than a restaurant. It’s a complete dining experience. The combination of Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian flavours is incredibly creative, with every dish beautifully presented and full of bold, unique flavours. The stunning city views, stylish atmosphere, and vibrant energy make it one of London’s most memorable places to dine. The cocktails were exceptional, and the service was attentive, friendly, and professional from start to finish. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for an unforgettable meal, SUSHISAMBA is absolutely worth the visit. I can’t wait to come back.”
“Visited SUSHISAMBA in Covent Garden and had the Ultimate menu. The food itself was really nice — full of flavour, well presented, and overall very enjoyable. There were some lovely dishes, and it was also nice having the open kitchen where you could watch the chefs cook, which added to the experience. The setting is beautiful, with nice views and a great atmosphere. The only let-down, in all honesty, was the service. For the price of the Ultimate menu, it feels like you’re paying top restaurant prices, but the service didn’t quite match that level. It wasn’t bad enough to ruin the evening, but it did take away from the overall experience. Overall, it’s a beautiful place with great food and I would go back, but next time I’d probably order dishes from the normal menu rather than doing the set menu.”
“First time visiting the Covent Garden branch after previously going to the SUSHISAMBA Heron Tower location — and as expected, the quality was top notch once again. The restaurant has a completely different feel to Heron Tower. While the other branch impresses with the skyline views, Covent Garden has a more intimate and stylish atmosphere with beautifully designed interiors, warm lighting, and a lively energy without feeling overwhelming. Food-wise, SUSHISAMBA continues to deliver at a very high level. The sushi is exceptional — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. To be honest, all their dishes are highly recommended. Everything we tried was executed properly, from the small plates to the mains. The service was also excellent — attentive, professional, and knowledgeable about the menu without being overbearing. Overall, another fantastic experience from SUSHISAMBA. Whether you’re going for sushi, seafood, or just the atmosphere, it’s a place that consistently delivers quality and feels worth the visit every time.”
“We went for a celebration meal on a Sunday evening. We were lucky to reserve a table as the restaurant was full. Lovely atmosphere and mood setting with the red lights from the red restaurant sign and green plants hanging from the ceiling. The staff were professional but I wouldn't necessarily say they were naturally friendly, they didn't smile but wasn't rude. We ordered the ultimate set menu, it was a very expensive treat and knew the quantity would make the meal filling after reading some reviews about the portion size. Lovely set menu, I would recommend it but I don't think i would ordered the dishes separately considering the size of them, therefore individually it is expensive for the size and what they were. 2 people for ultimate menu and 2 drinks plus service charge was over £320. Location is perfect and interior was great. However the female bathroom was filthy, toilet paper everywhere. Definitely will come back for only for celebrations only, I wouldn't come here for a casual lunch or dinner.”
“I booked a table through the website and mentioned in advance that we would be celebrating my birthday. We came as a group of three for dinner and ordered the set menu, along with one additional dish and three cocktails. Since the reservation clearly stated that there would be three guests, I was very surprised when the final bill showed the set menu charged separately for each person. The amount of food we received and the final price simply did not match my expectations. Honestly, the cost felt extremely overpriced for what was actually served. What disappointed me even more was the birthday experience itself. Even after I reminded the staff once again that it was my birthday, only then did they bring out a very tiny cupcake with a small “Happy Birthday” sign. It felt more like an afterthought than genuine hospitality. In total, we paid around £500 for three people for a dinner that lasted only two hours. For this price, I truly believe there are many restaurants of a similar level in London where you can enjoy much better value, more generous portions, and far more attentive service. Unfortunately, this experience left me quite disappointed.”
