Welcome to Humble Chicken, a 13-seat chef’s table experience centered around a completely open kitchen in the heart of Soho. We offer a Omakase menu inspired by Chef Angelo Sato’s Japanese and European heritage, with options for incredible beverage pairings. Due to the small and intimate nature of our restaurant, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate dietary restrictions. This includes vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan, no-egg, no-dairy, and gluten-free diets, as well as guests with coeliac disease or severe allergies that may result in anaphylactic shock due to potential cross-contamination. For minor dietary adjustments, please contact the restaurant (hello@humblechickenuk.com) before making a reservation and we will try our best to accommodate. All bookings require a non-refundable pre-payment of the menu price to secure the booking. Please note that service charge is not included in the pre-payment. We truly appreciate your understanding.
“A truly worthwhile experience. We celebrated a birthday here, and the team went above and beyond to make it incredibly memorable. The cuisine was absolutely amazing and creative, offering a unique dining experience found only here. Not only did each dish tell a beautiful story, but we could also clearly feel the team’s immense passion and love for what they do. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality. we can’t wait to come back!”
“Humble Chicken is honestly one of my top three restaurants in London. I’ve been coming since before they received their stars, including for some of their chef collaborations, and they have consistently delivered incredible food and a phenomenal experience. Every visit has had its own character, but the same sense of generosity, care, and excitement has always been there - from the early days before the stars to the more ambitious restaurant it has become now. What makes it special is that, despite all the recognition, the team still feels genuinely humble. They are warm, welcoming, and clearly love working together doing what they love to do. It’s rare to find somewhere operating at this level that still feels so human and genuinely fun. The experience is incredibly intimate, and you really get to connect with the team, chat with them, and feel part of the evening rather than just a guest at a table. The playlist was brilliant too - full of throwbacks and great tunes, with Chef Angelo even singing along at times. It made the whole evening feel like being at home with friends, gathered around the kitchen, laughing, chatting, and enjoying incredible food. They have always been incredibly accommodating with my dietary requirements, and I’ve never felt like I was missing out. The renovation is beautiful too. As an architect, I really appreciated how the space now feels less cramped while still keeping that intimate, personal feeling. And the food - genuinely life-changing. Every bite made me giddy. I do sometimes miss the simpler yakitori days, but I’m so proud of Chef Angelo’s ambition and everything the team has achieved. We also came to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and they made it so thoughtful: they took our photo and gave her a handwritten birthday card signed by the whole team. We even chatted about London restaurants, and the team shared some of their personal favourites. A truly special restaurant with heart, soul, and extraordinary food.”
“I couldn't recommend this place more - if you can get a seat, don't think twice - just do it!! This place definitely deserves all of the accolades it has received. The food looked like art on a plate, but more importantly the flavors matched and did not disappoint. I appreciated the mix of ingredients, textures, cooking methods, fusion of styles, and attention to detail - ensuring each course was a unique experience. The vibe of the place was also great - you are welcomed enthusiastically, and fun music played throughout the night, providing another layer of entertainment beyond the master class in cooking happening in front of your eyes. I was a single diner, and the team was super attentive and engaged with me, which I appreciated. Bottom line, Humble Chicken more than exceeded my expectations!”
“Relaxed but attentive experience with incredibly friendly and knowledgeable chefs and staff. The Omakase style of service means you are at the counter and dishes continuously arrive. There's no long gaps and everything is meticulously explained by very knowledgeable staff who clearly care about what they do The prawn toast, mussels and veal sweetbreads were all incredible and unique in their own way but the "fish and chips" with the fatty tuna cut on puffed rice was the real star of the show. You'll also probably never get another chance to have caviar in chocolate unless you're far more inventive than I am. Terrific experience in a small intimate setting. Worth trying the cocktail and sake collection. You can be guided through sake if it's not your expertise by the staff if you explain the kind of flavour profiles you like in other drinks. The coffee bean miso old fashioned is an excellent back up if you want something else and they have a great selection of non alcoholic cocktails, the cold brewed lemongrass tea being the standout Oh and there's a Japanese toilet. Its mind blowing. Highly recommend.”
“We had an amazing time celebrating my wife's 40th birthday. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and it was great being able to watch Chef Sato and his team at work in the kitchen. We always love countertop seating at restaurants! Each of the dishes that were served up to us were incredible. I could not fault any and the wine/ sake pairing that went with it was perfect. The atmosphere was really nice and chilled, highlighted by their great playlist! What stood out was their attention to detail and hospitality on making it extra special for us. It was a lovely touch having a polaroid picture taken, and then having it in a birthday card all signed by the team. Also, the menu at the end to take home where one was specially printed for my wife wishing her a happy birthday. Though they may be small, it just highlights how they wanted to make our experience as great as possible. It will only be a matter of time before Humble Chicken receives its 3rd star, and we cannot wait to return again!”
