Red Newt Cellars Winery & Bistro

“Yeah, I got the Merlot… I need to start my review by first talking about the great service I received from Roxanne. She gave me a friendly greeting as I walked in the door and that continued throughout my time at the winery. I couldn’t have had a more pleasant experience. I enjoy dry red wine so I chose a flight that included a Pinot Noir, a Cab Franc and a Merlot. I wouldn’t have chosen the Merlot if it was up to me to specify what three wines would be in the flight. I typically choose a Pinot Noir as I travel and stop at wineries across the country and, when in the finger lakes region, I typically prefer the Cab Franc. Both were quite good but they just couldn’t beat out the smoky flavor of the Merlot. It reminded me of some of the Bourbon Barrel wines I’ve enjoyed over the years. Sadly, I’m limited in space so I could only purchase one bottle and, I chose the Merlot. Now for the best things about Red Newt Winery… they are not only dog friendly but they are dog welcoming. And, being that they are a Harvest Host, I got to spend a nice quiet night in their parking lot. I recommend that you add Red Newt Winery to your list of places to visit when you’re traveling through the area. I know that I’ll be stopping here again in the future.”

“One of my favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes. Love their Rieslings (so many to chose from!) and their rose. Plus they have an amazing bistro that has excellent gluten-free, Celiac-safe options. My mom and I both have Celiac and we were able to eat here without worrying about cross-contamination. The staff were very knowledgeable. Food was delicious! Don't miss their homemade tomato soup with grilled cheese on gluten-free focaccia. Wow!”

“This winery wasn’t on my list until we needed somewhere to eat lunch, but I’m so glad we went!! Had a guided tasting from Liz, who was super knowledgeable, while our dog got lots of love from employees and visitors. Really enjoyed several of the wines, bought 6 bottles. And lunch!! The soup of the day was a butternut squash soup that’s totally craveable. Blows Panera out of the water. The warm baguette was delicious as well. Would definitely return on our next FLX trip.”

“We had a nice snack and a couple of flights of wines. I should have done a tasting, as the flight selection was a little limiting, but I enjoyed it nonetheless, and sitting out on the deck was lovely. Matt and the other staff were pleasant and helpful. We liked the wines but the one my wife loved was a little over budget for us so we did not get a bottle to bring home.”

“We absolutely fell in love with this sweet winery on Lake Seneca. Our experience was just wonderful. We especially liked the Rieslings which is what we were looking for. Our host Meredith was very friendly and informative. We greatly enjoyed their patio for wine and a great charcuterie! Stop in here when you are in the Finger Lakes! You won’t be disappointed.”
