Restaurant Olivia is a pasta focused Italian restaurant located in Denver’s Wash Park neighborhood. Olivia is the second project from chef Ty Leon, beverage guru Austin Carson and hospitality maven Heather Morrison. Each evening we open the doors to our restaurant as if it were our home, treating guests with warmth and graciousness. Rather than focus on any one Italian region, Olivia is all about the handmade pasta. We draw inspiration from the Italian classics and look to the traditions that form the bedrock of its wonderfully eclectic food and drink culture, but we will, from time to time, feature flavors and dishes from all over the world. Our food is made with care and intention with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Our beverage program features expertly crafted but playful cocktails and an Italian focused, but international wine list.
“I wish I could give more stars! Michelin was so right on this restaurant. Beautiful ambience, without being stuffy or haughty. Phenomenal staff and service that was attentive but not pushy, thoughtful, always had our water full, never needed to ask for things - they thought ahead. And the FOOD! We love italian food, and four of us went for my mother's retirement celebration dinner. 🍾 They gave us a little champagne toast to welcome us because it was a special occasion. We ordered the trout appetizer and the focaccia and burata. SO DELICIOUS! The trout was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the focaccia was not oily like it sometimes can be but soft and pillows and had a cheesy layer on top, and the burata sat on an amazing pear compote that was delicious on its own. They served a little palette cleanser of a strawberry lime granita between courses. For entrees we ordered the spaghetti vongole (clams), gemelli alla norcina (sausage, truffle), tagliatelle bolognese (meat sauce - there's is made of pancetta and prosciutto), and the eggplant parmesan. Everything was perfectly cooked, the handmade noodles were to die for, each plate was so different but so good and very flavorful. I especially loved the clams and the bolognese. Finally we got the strawberry and vanilla gelatos and wow, that was the perfect ending. So fresh and flavorful and not too sweet. Overall this was a Michelin experience in every way and we would love to come back for another special event! Thank you, R Olivia!”
“The place is cosy, cute and comfy. We went there for a birthday celebration, the staff was so good, we were given complimentary bread and burrata which was delicious!! Later we were given tiny little sorbets for palate cleansing which was refreshing. Entrées were absolutely lovely, all their pastas are handmade and we tried onion ravioli which is my favourite. We also got eggplant parmesan which was delicious and portion wise was also good. My friends also loved their wine even though I didn’t try it, heard that it was tasting amazing. Would recommend pasta lovers to try this place!”
“My partner and I visited Restaurant Olivia with high hopes of a fabulous experience. We knew the restaurant had recently been recognized by James Beard for their superior hospitality and could not wait to try it for ourselves. Our expectations were exceeded as we were wined and dined with the upmost hospitable service from Miss Sue Brown. She ever so elegantly guided us through the menu providing personalized recommendations, tailored to our preferences. Sue is incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and shared how each item was uniquely crafted. We could hear the love and passion in Sue’s voice speaking about the chefs bringing the creations to life. We tried several different offerings, each and every dish was plated to perfection with outstanding fresh flavors. Our dining experience was the best we’ve had in years but Sue is the real treat. She made sure our time at Restaurant Olivia was one that will never be forgotten. Along with the lovely service provided by Sue, we had a warm, welcoming experience from the moment we entered the space. We were greeted immediately upon arriving and promptly escorted to our table. The ambiance of the space is both elevated and relaxing. The sommelier did an excellent job helping us select a bottle of wine that we would both enjoy and took care of us all evening. The entire team of Restaurant Olivia provided silent service with a smile. It was flawless. My partner and I were able to have a romantic evening without ever needing to ask for a thing. The ability to anticipate our needs were next level hospitality. I am looking forward to seeing Restaurant Olivia earn a Michelin Star in the near future.”
“We came here on a whim a few years ago for my birthday when we were lucky enough to snag a reservation, and ever since this is far and away our favorite Italian restaurant. Every plate is divine, the service is always immaculate, and we always have an incredible time. We love that they change the menu so we can come and try something new every time. The drinks are always top notch, too!”
“The tasting menu at Restaurant Olivia is a creative triumph and easily a Denver highlight. However, the a la carte experience hasn't quite matched that brilliance; some main menu dishes lack the punch and complexity found in the curated courses. Despite the occasional flat note, the exceptional wine program and intimate atmosphere still earn it a solid 4 stars.”
