“My wife and I stopped by for dinner. Although they didn't seat for dinner until 5pm, we were able to enjoy some great cocktails at their well-stocked bar while we waited. The food and service were top notch. And the view of the lake was very serene.”

“The nicest service. Seriously this was above and beyond. So attentive and caring. Two people walked in without a brunch reservation just because we think we ate here on a previous Madison visit in 2009. We grabbed seats at the bar and were totally happy as the staff got us situated. Two of the host staff or management checked on us multiple times to see if we wanted to move to a table, apologizing for the length of time - except we were in our element. Delicious coffee, excellent frites, a perfect herbed omelette. The charcuterie offered a little of everything. The radish salad was perfect and not too strong. Conversation with the staff was pleasant, and it just was such a positive atmosphere with everyone enjoying their Sunday brunch by the lake. I write a lot of reviews and don’t gush like this very often. This was a great way to end our weekend in Madison. Thank you.”

“Delicious. The place was so freaking loud, but the food made up for it. There was so many small details I loved, like the dressing on the greens on the appetizers were different... What an incredible way to elevate and enhance the dish. I wish I could adequately describe the crisp and moist and smooth texture of the trout combined with the clean flavor of the sauce that wasn't overpowered by lemon... The pops of the capers... It was so good. My partner got the chicken and we couldn't figure out how the amazing breading was done. All the flavors combined so well. Do not pass on the butterscotch cup.”

“Sadie was a lovely waiter to our table! It was our first time and we loved every minute of it. We sat outside and had a lovely view of Lake Mendota. Food was great! Highly recommend going for brunch! Everything was fresh and made in-house for the most part. I cannot wait to go there again!”

“Sardine was absolutely perfect. We went on a busy Sunday morning- and we had made no reservations! It was bustling inside. We got seated immediately at a communal table with the warning that the communal table turns into a reserved table at a certain time. They also promised that if we were still there when that happened they would move us. When that time approached the waitstaff smoothly moved us and our stuff to a neighboring two top. The food!!! Having worked in a high end patisserie in NYC we had some pretty high standards and Sardine was exceptional. I felt transported back to NYC and Paris. The marshmallow on the hot chocolate was incredible. The oysters were absolutely delicious and sweet. Our Croque Madams were exactly what we were missing. Everything was perfect.”
