“We had the most remarkable time. The food was fresh, with bright dynamic flavors. The drinks were masterpieces of balance having Amazing subtle yet powerful elements. Service was attentive and friendly, ambience was lovely. Nothing was to sweet, and I am quite sensitive to sugar. We have two nights left in CDMX and are set on coming back a second time. Will remain a staple.”
“I've never been to Thailand, but I have been to a lot of Thai restaurants. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The food was great! The shrimp with tamarind sauce and the seafood fried rice really stood out to me as well as the sauces that came on the side with all of the dishes, but I thought was exceptional was the service. Friendly and attentive staff! They were also very knowledgable about the menu. The restaurant itself is in a beautiful old house typical of the Colonia Roma. I will be back!!”
“I had a pleasant time at Somsaa. Vibrant, yet cozy venue. It almost has a homey feel, not to take away from any of the professionalism in their service. The food and cocktails were clearly well thought out and carefully designed, however, the flavor profiles were a little off for my liking. I found a few items to be overly sweet, bev and food alike. And yes I know the cultures they pull inspiration from have those characteristics, it is part of why I love East Asian cuisine the most, however in this case it was a little too much in one direction. Price point is on the higher end, but definitely makes sense when you see the ingredients used and the preparation involved. I would love to give it another try, especially for their afternoon tea after seeing that it is one of their offerings.”
“Cute Southeast Asian flair spot by the same owner as Galanga. The setting is in a beautiful colonial house. Service is friendly and I can see it as a great choice for dates and gatherings with friends. The food was a tad too sweet for my personal liking, but I appreciate that the server was able to help us navigate the gluten free items. My favorite dish was the nem lui. The drink selection is good - we had a nice bottle of cider. Will probably come back to try the tea & dessert another time as those seem to be their signature items.”
“Being asian-foodlovers we were so looking forward to a dinner at Somsaa. Turned out to be quiet disappointing. Sitting at far too small tables for the 4 dishes we ordered to share between the 2 of us. We're used too authentic hot asian food, but 1 dish was even for us uneatable faaar too spicy. Would not recommend this restaurant for peopla that know what asian food should taste like 🥴.”
