“I visited Stage house on Friday for lunch. To my surprise it was Very easy to find seating . The bacon wrapped pork chop is excellent choice. It was one of the best pork chops I have had. The pork chop is thick cut, so you’ll definitely be bringing some food home. This is a great place to come to in the summer for the outdoor seating and music. For my sports scans they do have enough TV’s so you don’t miss any action”

“Stage House Tavern 1719 Amwell Rd. Somerset, NJ 08873 Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast The restaurant entrance looks like the front of a house surrounded by grassland. Not actually has a full size bar, indoor dining area, and an outdoor patio. This is a slight variation from a traditional chicken Parmesan entrée. The cutlet was prepared differently. The edges were pounded thin and had a crispy texture. The center of the cutlet was thick and chewier. Hidden beneath the cutlet was house made spinach linguine. It’s different from typical pasta, but it has an acquired earthy taste. The appearance of the vodka sauce isn’t the most appealing, but it tastes a lot better than it looks. The sauce was thick and creamy and had chunks of tomato. I highly recommend requesting an additional cup of sauce for full flavor. Overall, I enjoyed this plate. The minor drawback was we arrived while our server was ending his shift during our meal. “Went here after competition and it was great bar food. Everything was pretty good, but nothing really extraordinary. I really enjoyed their bourbon burger. Would come back if i’m in the area.”

“The atmosphere was great, indoor and outdoor seating. Bar seating. Clean environment. Music playing. They said they have a live band sometimes. Very loud outside. We ordered several appetizers, all were decent. I enjoyed the BBQ wings the most. My main dish was Sheppard Pie. Which was good, different than I am used to. I usually have it layered. This was a stew with mashed potatoes lumped on top. But overall good experience.”

“A great tavern atmosphere to watch sports, to hang out on the patio, or to socialize with friends. The drink prices are rather fair, and the atmosphere is great. The food leaves a little bit to be desired, we tried the boneless chicken wings, and the Nashville hot sauce was rather flavorless, the garlic Parm was pretty good, and the barbecue tasted like sweet baby rays. However, all of the other food coming out of the kitchen looked very good, so perhaps we made a poor order. We’ll definitely be back for more drinks, to experience the happy hour menu, and to watch some games!”
