“I loved my one-night getaway here. Charming historic features, extremely comfortable room with attention to details, easily walkable to all shopping, and friendly front desk staff. Parking in their ramp is free and the onsite restaurant, Scarlet, was good. Staying on a Monday night meant it was very quiet, although The Port was closed which was a little disappointing.”
“Great old building. The beds are comfortable the rooms are clean hotel was updated at some point to look like it is old. There are great old stair cases throughout the whole building with nice old banister, but it also has elevators to all levels so you don't have to take the stairs if you don't want to. The bar downstairs had a nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. We plan on making another trip to Redwing this summer and staying at the St. James. Must stay if you like old buildings and history.”
“This is a very neat hotel. The history is very impressive, and the building has some incredible architecture. The rooms are comfortable and unique. The location is great right in the heart of the downtown area too.”
“My husband and I stayed here for one night for my birthday. We’re pretty cheap when it comes to hotels and don’t expect much, but we booked a suite with a river view since I love the water and just wanted a quick night away from home. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was great, and the room itself was nice. The staff was friendly and the hotel overall is really cool. But the main reason we booked this room was for the river view. We stayed in “The Queen of the Mississippi,” which is advertised as a river room, and there was no river view at all. Just brick buildings. I don’t think this room should be called or marketed as a river view room based on what we experienced. It was really disappointing, and because of that we wouldn’t come back or recommend it. (Photos are the view from our window.)”
“My wife and I shared our 51st anniversary there. We received a regular size bed. Which was way too small. No fridge and no breakfast included. Very disappointed”
