“I stayed at the Rex in March for a ski getaway. I do not normally make reviews but I could not have asked for a better stay in Zermatt. The hotel is tucked away from more crowded areas but with easy access to bus stops/ mountain lifts and the city center. Our room view of the Matterhorn was beautiful. The delicious hotel breakfast was included in our stay. Our end of the days usually included a visit to the hotel sauna and spa. The lobby area has a small bar with the best craft cocktails I had in all of Zermatt - this is not an exaggeration, they were so good. And lastly, the staff truly made the stay all the worthwhile. Everyone was so kind and helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations. The front desk helped us navigate the piste map based on our ski levels. At some point I lost a credit card at another location and the staff helped coordinate to get it back for me. I definitely bothered the front desk with way too many questions, but I was always met with responsive answers and kindness no matter what. I cannot recommend this place enough. Looking for lodging in Zermatt can be overwhelming, but if you want a relaxed boutique hotel experience with incredibly friendly staff, the Rex is the place to stay. Can’t wait to return.”

“My wife and I spent the first part of our honeymoon in Switzerland at the rex and the experience was phenomenal. The room, the staff, the food, and everything were top-notch. We had a great view of the Matterhorn even on the first floor, and every morning we enjoyed the great breakfast they offered. The bakery was a standout part of the stay, and the croissants were a perfect way to start the day off before skiing. We were a little worried about how far it would be from the main part of Zermatt and how close we would be to the ski lifts, but it was perfectly walkable and, in our opinion, just the right distance from the main street to avoid a lot of secondhand noise from après and the pubs. If we knew how much we would love Zermatt and the rex, we would've spent our entire trip there.”

The spa facilities are immaculate and a perfect way to relax after a day in the mountains. The breakfast included with your stay is outstanding, featuring delicious items from their on-site bakery. What truly makes The Rex special, though, is the staff. Everyone is welcoming, helpful, and always smiling, which makes the entire experience feel warm and personal. Choosing a hotel in Zermatt can feel overwhelming with so many great options, but The Rex makes the decision easy. Stay here! You’ll be glad you did!”

“I planned a surprise weekend trip to Zermatt for my boyfriend’s birthday, and our stay at Hotel Rex Zermatt was absolutely wonderful. The reception team went above and beyond to help me organize a special birthday dinner, and they even assisted with a last-minute lunch reservation at a famous mountain restaurant and organized our ski passes. Their kindness and attention to detail truly made the weekend unforgettable. All of the staff were incredibly helpful, and the hotel has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We especially loved waking up to the smell of fresh bread from the bakery downstairs each morning, such a charming touch! The rooms are spacious, spotless, and full of character. The hotel does a beautiful job preserving its original history and charm while incorporating modern comforts. The location is also perfect everything is easily accessible, making it effortless to explore. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return. Highly recommend!”

“The REX was such a gem on our trip. The staff was always so lovely and helpful. They gave us great suggestions on areas to visit and could book tickets for us. The room was clean and large. Our views of the Matterhorn were just stunning. We got the junior suite with a view. The SPA was such a treat and really enjoyable especially after a day on the slopes. The ski room was nice as well with plenty of space. Breakfast was also delicious. The location was excellent just a couple blocks from the main street so easy to access everything but far away enough to feel quite. It was very close to the bus stops as well so getting around via bus or walking was easy. We will definitely be back.”
