“We had an incredible experience at wunderbar last night. Firstly, we didn’t have a reservation and despite being fully booked they accommodated us which was incredibly kind! Next, enough good things can’t be said about this hidden whimsical speakeasy.. magical vibes, delicious concoctions and a cozy ambience, very creative menu both design, concept and combinations.. A cool thing about their menu is that they have a light/dark magic theme.. the light magic is the classic cocktail for example an Old fashion, the dark magic is Wunderbar’s take on the classic cocktail in this case it was Poison apple this month.. fabulous idea.. because sometime you just want your regular with a twist! They also have a nice selection of White magic Non alcoholic cocktails.. They were originally going to fit us in for just 20 mins but we ended up staying over an hour and had 4 cocktails. 1 was a special cocktail for the night which was a pandan flavored whiskey.. a tiki drink, the dreamcatcher and the poison apple.. highly recommend all four.. Xian helped us while we were out there and he was an incredibly gracious host..”

“Honestly, this is my favorite speakeasy in the Bay Area. It quietly opened during Covid and quickly became one of those places you almost want to keep secret. Reservations only. Strictly. and getting a prime-time slot isn’t always easy — which says a lot about how popular it is. The vibe is amazing: old-fashioned leather chairs, bookshelves stretching all the way to the ceiling, and dim, intimate lighting that makes the space feel cozy, sexy and private. It’s the kind of place where you can definitely dress up and enjoy a proper night out. The drink selection is huge and very creative. Their specialty cocktails come in a deck of tarot cards, which makes choosing a drink part of the fun. My go-to is the Wisewoman, and the French 75 is also beautifully balanced. That said, they update their menu pretty often. They’ve even created custom drinks for special requests before, which was a nice surprise. Oh, about the “speakeasy” part, you have to figure out the code at the door with the “rabbit” to get in (hint hint), which is so fun! 🤩”

“Hidden behind a red curtain, this bar has such cozy vibes and their menu theme is so cute! I was in awe taking it all in. We didn't have a reservation, it was a Monday night, but were lucky enough to get two seats at the bar. They had free popcorn and the drinks were delicious! Perfect place for a date night.”

“This is the absolute best craft cocktail bar, anywhere! Their drinks are incredible! The new menu is SO good! They switch drinks up a couple times a year and if they ever have a seasonal or special drink over the bar, get it! Appreciate the new snacks, Teriyaki Seasome Almonds and Cashews, and Everything Bagel chips. They've also added some great mocktails.”

“Amazing bar and delicious drinks, but wish they had more than popcorn! I prefer to nibble a bit while drinking. Even simple fare, like nuts and cheese would suffice ! Still it is worth a visit, I love the decor and is a small space perfect for an intimate gathering of a few friends.”
