1906 at Longwood Gardens

“Superb service, ambiance, food, and food-presentation. We had the 3-course prix fix menu and found the quality and portions to be higher and slight larger than comparably priced meals at other places. I love the ceilings and light in the dining room. They grow their own veggies and herbs and they’re delicious. The brioche bread and honey-butter with herbs is delicious. The scallops were likewise delicious with a special mention to the garden-grown tomatoes for tasting like real tomatoes. The duck was tasty and the carrot foam/mousse added a nice sweetness. As for dessert the mushroom shaped chocolate mousse is SPECIAL! The blackberry tarte was very good, but that mushroom dessert…”

“The atmosphere was bright and beautiful. Our server had to have been watching us like a hawk because as soon as our utensils went down she was next to the table asking how everything was. She was very attentive without hovering and the food was delicious. The broccoli raab was definitely too salty for me, but everything else was so magnificent that I literally do not care. It was the perfect place for an anniversary lunch for my boyfriend and I.”

“This restaurant is lovely, and I have to rave about Meghan and the Valentine's weekend dinner. Oh my gosh. We've had the lounge food before and it's always been great, but this really was a step up. Everything was perfectly made, our drinks were fantastic, and our waitress! She was top-notch. Very thorough about my gluten allergy, always there refilling our drinks, super personable, and even took pictures for us to commemorate the occasion. It really made for a great two year together-anniversary. I wish I was a Bridgerton and could be here every weekend! This was a treat and we're already planning to be here for year three.”

“An excellent and relaxing dining experience inside Longwood Gardens. The restaurant offers both a casual dining area and a refined prix-fixe menu with two or three courses, featuring fresh ingredients sourced in part from the gardens themselves. Service was warm and attentive, every dish was introduced with care. The vegetarian risotto was outstanding, and the foamed potatoes were unforgettable. We truly enjoyed every course, though the dessert leaned a touch too sweet for my palate.”

“You'd be remiss not to dine at 1906 during your visit to Longwood Gardens! It's such a beautiful space, and every interaction was attentive and warm. Bri, my server, was the highlight of my dining experience. She was knowledgeable and passionate about the menu. Every dish of my three-course tasting had a winning feature: the morel mushrooms shone with the gnocchi, the miso glaze with the pork, the matcha gelato with the cheesecake. Contrary to some of the reviews, I found the portions well sized, especially since these dishes were on the richer side. The gnocchi was my favorite: creamy yet light, and flavorful. I did not enjoy the cherry blossom cheesecake, which tasted like how fruity chapstick smells. (I would have gladly, however, eaten a bowl of the matcha gelato with the cacao nibs. It was perfectly grassy, refreshing, and not too sweet.) Despite the lack of well-roundedness to each dish, I still enjoyed the flavors and visual presentation. I would happily return during other seasons since the menu constantly changes according to what ingredients are in season.”
