“It is a good idea to reserve in advance for dining at 555 East American Steakhouse. I went there on a weekend and only because I was early enough that I could be seated at the bar as a solo diner. The steak was very good. The natural flavors were explosive. I had steak and frites and that is my favorite combination. The atmosphere at the bar was festive, although the overall ambience is more on the classy variety. I chatted with the very busy bar tender who entertained me wonderful conversations even though he had innumerable cocktails to make. Other diners were very friendly and we shared intelligence about what the best food was to get. I topped up the meal with apple tart and a black coffee and have not felt such satisfaction for a long time. One of the best memories in Long Beach.”

Our server Jesse was fantastic with explaining the menu, detailed answers, and ensuring we knew what we were getting. He answered each of questions in great detail and was very knowledgeable and personable. All of the food was so amazing and the bread was some of the best we’ve ever had. I would highly recommend to anyone in the Long Beach area looking for a good meal.”

“We had an event at 555 East American Steakhouse and had a really good experience overall. The restaurant has a classic steakhouse atmosphere with elegant decor, warm lighting, and a comfortable fine dining vibe that makes it a great place for special occasions and events. As a steakhouse, the quality of the steaks was one of the highlights. You can tell they take pride in their dry-aged selections, and the meat was flavorful, well cooked, and high quality. We also enjoyed the fresh oysters, shrimp cocktail, seafood dishes, and cocktails. Everything was nicely presented and tasted fresh. The service was professional and attentive throughout the evening, and the staff handled our event smoothly. Food came out on time, the ambiance was great, and the overall experience felt organized and enjoyable.”

“I loved being here. It was a short walk from the hotel, which felt ideal before and after eating like a queen 👑 I could only get an outdoor reservation, and we were the only ones seated out there on a chilly night. That said, the staff was incredibly attentive with the heaters, constantly adjusting them for us. Between the live jazz and string lights, it ended up being a really cozy vibe. We started with the octopus and artichoke hearts, which were good but not the standout. The petite filet mignon was the star. Perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful on its own. The peppercorn sauce was rich with just the right kick, and the California chimichurri added a fresh contrast. The garlic mashed potatoes were a highlight. Creamy, buttery, and packed with flavor. Still thinking about them. My friend’s asparagus was a solid side. My cocktail, the Essex Street, was excellent. The hint of dill made it unique without being overpowering. I really wish I had room for dessert because I have a feeling it would have been worth it.”

“The food was amazing. Our server was attentive and courteous. Unfortunately, we sat by the windows and noticed how dusty the blinds were. There were several mosquitoes flying around us and I really have a problem with restaurants allowing men to wear baseball caps during dinner. Call me old school, but this isn't a sports bar and there should be a dress code or at least that!”
