Old Brea Chop House is a Steakhouse restaurant in the Brea neighborhood of Brea.
“What to start out by giving a big amount of appreciation to Bo, Arianna & Erin. They took care of my family and me today. My wife and I agree that the level of service was above and beyond, and Old Brea Chop House is at the top of our list for future business. The food & drinks were all top-tier, the speed of delivery was perfect as well. We celebrated both our promotions today, and they added a little surprise at the end, which was a fantastic end to the meal.”
“Made Valentines reservations 3 weeks prior to the day. Upon arrival, the host staff girls unenthusiastically greeted us while looking me up and down, and then awkwardly checked us in. As someone who previously worked in food service - I hope that they are not typically catty like that to high paying customers or they will miss out on returning customers with that as a first impression. I will not let their attitude dampen this review because the rest of the night was fantastic. Our server Tiffany brightened up our experience - she was super sweet, attentive, and happy to recommend dishes/ drinks. She recited all current specials and popular menu items from memory without missing a beat. She also suggested sides/ cocktail pairings for our entrees. We got a scotch cocktail (don't recall the name) that had Bénédictine liquor in it - it added so much more warmth and dimension to the cocktail. We got the filet mignon, center cut ribeye, roasted brussel sprouts, and lyonnaise potatoes. The steaks were cooked medium rare beautifully with a nice crust on the top and bottom. The side dishes had bursts of flavor going on with each bite between the charring of the vegetables, carmelized onions, rosemary, etc. I forgot that I added "anniversary" to our reservation as our anniversary is only 2 weeks away. The staff brought us out a beautiful little dessert with "Happy Anniversary" etched onto the plate out of what seems to be cocoa powder. A few other staff members checked in on us - asking how the steaks were, and if we needed anything. Between the bread and appetizer, and dinner - staff came and dusted crumbs off the table. The staff boxed our leftovers up in front of us and the owner/ manager came and personally thanked us and wished us a Happy Valentines Day, anniversary, and a beautiful night. It was one of the most memorable dining experiences between the delectable dishes, drinks, and (mostly) delightful staff. Strongly recommend for a special occasion such as an anniversary or milestone birthday for someone you love!”
“From the moment we sat down at Old Brea Chop House, the service was incredible — attentive, polished, and genuinely warm without ever feeling overbearing. Every course was perfectly timed, and we truly felt taken care of all evening. We started with the Caesar salad, crisp and fresh with the perfect balance of dressing and parmesan. Paired with the 2021 ISOSCELES Reserve from JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, the meal immediately felt elevated — the wine was bold, smooth, and beautifully layered. The 36oz bone-in prime tomahawk was the star of the night — flawlessly seared on the outside and tender and juicy in every bite. The broccolini had a perfect char, and the potato au gratin was creamy, rich, and packed with flavor — easily some of the best sides we’ve had. We finished with their warm, decadent butter cake (absolutely melt-in-your-mouth) and an espresso martini that is officially my new number one. The ambience truly ties everything together — warm, inviting, and perfect for a special night out. With rich wood tones, soft lighting, and an intimate yet lively energy, it strikes the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable. An unforgettable dining experience from start to finish.”
“This was our first visit to Old Brea Chophouse, & it was a goodie!👍 Our besties recommended this place, for a special dinner, in Brea, CA. My partner & I met our friends here, for our 5:30p.m. Dinner Reservation. The host apparently couldn't seat us, at our scheduled time, but it was a short, perhaps 10 to15 minute wait, before we were brought to our table. We took this time, to catch up, with our dear OC friends, whom we hadn't seen in a bit. Our group of 4 got an excellent table, featuring a comfy padded booth, which was perched several steps above a large, central dining space, at Old Brea Chophouse. First thing I noticed about this place, was it was absolutely bustling, with activity. Servers were bringing out beautiful plates of food, all willy nilly, as a completely packed restaurant of folks were enjoying their drinks & fine meals. The din of happy banter filled the room. Myself & my good buddy ordered glasses of a lovely red Paso Cab: Austin Hope. My partner ordered a Dirty Martini, With Beefeater Gin & her bestie ordered a fruity mocktail. Each of us took turns sipping our drinks, between funny stories, that flew from our mouths. We ordered 2 orders of the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp, one for each couple, as appetizers. They were OMG good, with 4 fairly large shrimp, swimming in an incredibly tasty sauce. My taste buds were doing high fives! Service throughout our entire dining experience was excellent. Two servers tag-teamed, managing to be right there, every time we needed them, taking care of our every dining whim. Mains came out, & our table got real quiet, as each of us enjoyed Old Brea Chophouse's bangin' food. My 16oz. Ribeye came out hot, & a perfect Medium Rare. I added Gorgonzola on top of it, for added flavor, but the meat was seasoned so well, it really didn't need the extra. My partner was raving about how tender & buttery her Filet Mignon was, as was my good friend, who ordered the larger portion of this same dish. My buddies' partner really enjoyed her Salmon, as well. We ordered several desserts, to cap this great meal off, & our favorite, by far, was the Butter Cake, which was delivered to our table hot & yummy...so warm & buttery! My compliments to the chefs, & servers at Old Brea Chophouse. We'll definitely be back.”
“Old Brea Chop House was definitely an interesting experience. Keeping in mind it was a busy night, I did have reservations and arrived on time, but still had to wait almost 20 minutes to be seated, which was a little disappointing. We started with the grilled oysters, and those were honestly one of the highlights of the night. They were flavorful, cooked well, and I definitely wish we had ordered more. For entrées, we tried the burger. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it was just okay, nothing particularly memorable or standout. The fries that came with it were actually better than the burger itself. It was crispy, well seasoned, and probably the stronger part of the dish. We also ordered the dry-aged ribeye. The sear on the outside was a bit unusual, but the flavor and cook on the inside were decent. I was surprised they served the steak whole rather than slicing it tableside or in the kitchen like many other steakhouses do, which would have made for a better presentation and easier sharing. For sides, the truffle gnocchi was excellent. The gnocchi was soft, rich, and full of flavor, definitely one of the better dishes we had. The potatoes au gratin, however, was not my favorite. The potato pieces were too large and chunky for my preference, although the overall flavor was still okay, it wasn’t creamy or anything like a traditional potato au gratin. It just felt like they threw a bunch of cheese on top of it and called it a day To finish the night, we had the s’mores brownie ice cream dessert, and that was probably the best item on the menu. It was indulgent, fun, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, I don’t think I would return, but I do think it was worth trying once. It’s a decent spot for a visit, but in my opinion there are definitely better steakhouses in the OC”
