“We had Alta Bistro cater our wedding last summer, and they completely exceeded expectations. I had a very specific vision, and Eric really took the time to understand it and bring it to life. The entire menu felt thoughtful, elevated, the food was incredible (definitely the best wedding food I've ever had) and had our guests raving to that night and beyond. Their team was professional, seamless, and truly next level. The airstream also added such a special touch and completely elevated the outdoor wedding. :) Thank you, Eric and team!”
“Amazing food. Everything we tried was delicious with special mentions to the foie gras, carrot soup and roasted beef striploin. Service was great and there was a nice ambiance. They even have a kids menu. Would highly recommend.”
“If you love great food, very good and attentive service and a nice atmosphere, go to the best bistro in town. Probably the best dinner of our West Canada trip. On a Wednesday evening our family group of 12 including 2 small kids went here based on the recommendation of a few locals. The service was fantastically attentive. The waitress heared me dropping a spoon from the other side of the restaurant, right there with a new one. Because we were with such a large group, we practically ate the whole menu, and all the food was amazing! Duck breast: fantastic! Pork belly: spot on! Clam and cantharelle risotto: amazing! The wine, non-alcoholic beverages and cocktails: super! So, also in summer season, a great place to spend a few hours and enjoy a great meal.”
“We went to this restaurant on September 24th of this year with the whole family, a total of 10 adults and 2 kids. We had loads of shared plates as a starter, including the sourdough ciabatta, olives, charred shishito peppers, oysters, the Alta deli-board, and the venison tartare. For main course we had a various dishes, but all dishes were amazing. The risotto with peas was great, the pork belly was perfectly glazed, and also the Bavette and cheeseburger were cooked perfectly. Also the kids options were nice, varying from fish with chips to a cheese panini with fries, and of course ice cream as dessert! The service was also amazing, and we had two lovely servers continuously being attentive with our water and wine glasses. In total we spent a little over 100 CAD per person, but we had 3 bottles of wine totaling 375 CAD, so we went a little overboard on the wine, but it tasted great!”
“We had a very disappointing dinner at Alta Bistro on their three-course tasting menu, both in terms of food execution and service. The salad was alright but not particularly memorable, a fairly neutral start to the meal. The second app we got was the foie gras pâté was extremely bitter and difficult to eat beyond a bite or two. We asked the server whether this was expected, and they seemed unsure and said they didn’t think so. We clearly expressed that we were unhappy with the dish, and it was simply taken away without any explanation or follow-up from the kitchen, which left the issue unaddressed. The mains were also disappointing, with both dishes heavily over-seasoned and very salty. The seasoning overwhelmed the ingredients rather than enhancing them, making the dishes difficult to finish. We had to take it with a lot of water. Service was polite but felt surface-level, with no meaningful attempt to clarify concerns or provide any real response from the kitchen when issues were raised. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing meals we’ve had in years. The execution and hospitality were well below expectations for this price point and did not reflect an upscale dining experience. My husband also felt unwell for the rest of the evening afterward, which added to the concern about the overall experience.”
