“My husband and I had an absolutely amazing dinner at Bistro du Midi. From start to finish, every course was outstanding. I started with the foie gras terrine, which was incredibly creamy and rich, and paired perfectly with the accompanying toast. For my entrée, I had the bouillabaisse, and the broth was simply exceptional—deeply flavorful and packed with complexity. My husband began with the Spanish octopus, which was perfectly prepared and delicious, followed by the halibut, which was beautifully cooked and equally impressive. For dessert, we shared the pistachio soufflé with fresh whipped cream alongside a dollop of ice cream, and it was the perfect ending to a memorable meal. We also each enjoyed a glass of Domaine de Montille Clos du Château, which paired wonderfully with the food and was an excellent recommendation. The service, atmosphere, and attention to detail were all top-notch. Bistro du Midi delivers a truly special dining experience, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for exceptional French cuisine in Boston.”

“The seafood here is very very impressive! Super fresh and high quality. I know it’s a French restaurant, but the seafood dish was as memorable as the perfectly seared foie gras. By seafood I mean that seafood stew dish, not grilled octopus. It was too burnt and tasted bitter — wouldn’t recommend that. Chocolate souffle is really good. Not too sweet and doesn’t have eggy scent.”

“We visited this beautiful restaurant on our wedding anniversary, and the experience was truly lovely. While there were limited vegetarian options, everything we tried was excellent. We started with the soup as an appetizer, which was delicious, and ordered the beet gnocchi as well. I personally loved the beet gnocchi — creamy, well-balanced, and perfectly done. For dessert, we had the chocolate soufflé, and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Absolutely loved it and a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion.”

“Service was awesome and the ambience is also wonderful. The paillard chicken was absolutely fantastic but the lamb cappelletti was just meh. A little too salty and the lamb taste was little off. Everything else was fantastic. Best crème brulee I have had in boston. I would just order a la carte instead of the lunch course.”

“Bistro du Midi is a fancy spot in Boston! It’s definitely more posh than I initially expected which also means it’s pricey. Two of us went for brunch, with just one cocktail each, and the bill came to over $200 after tax and tip. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and sits right across from Boston Common, making it perfect for a post-brunch walk in the park. We dined on the second floor with whimsical views of the Common (it was winter and snowy!), though we noticed there’s a first floor as well which seemed a bit more casual. We started with the beef tartare, which was one of the best I’ve ever had. It came topped with a quail egg and was absolutely perfect though a bit on the smaller side for the price point. Our cocktails were good, but nothing to write home about. They weren’t over-the-top or experimental or anything like that; pretty basic, albeit still enjoyable. For mains, I had the burger and my husband ordered the steak and eggs. My burger was good, but I wasn’t a fan of the bread they used. The steak and eggs were the real winner. The steak was delicious, although I wish the egg component had been incorporated a bit more thoughtfully rather than simply serving two poached eggs on the side. We ended the meal with the soufflé which was to die for. Definitely get it for dessert. Lastly, service was just okay. Our server seemed somewhat uninterested and barely checked in on us. For a place of this caliber, I was expecting a little more.”
