Mac's Acadian Seafood Shack

“Simply and to the point, Mac's Acadian Seafood was a surprisingly incredible find, and the next time we are in the area, we will certainly return! I say "surprisingly" because we were expecting something far more average, and were instead amazed! The service was very attentive... the surroundings were pleasant... AND the food was extraordinary, a true culinary experience!! Obviously, there was a skilled chef in the kitchen. We started with calamari, which ranked in the top 2 or 3 of the best we ever tasted, ever... I ordered Jambalaya and it was was excellent... my wife ordered the seafood chowder meal, and while extremely wonderfully flavorful, could have been a little more generous on the actual seafood. Both dishes would have been proud additions to any restaurant's menu! Great attention was paid to all areas, as even the house salad was delightful and not just the basics of what might be expected, their house dressing would be highly recommended by us. And then, the rolls, hot and fresh out of the oven... above and beyond!”

“There on a slow night, got great treatment. Has surface and turf. They were out of steak on menu but replaced with different kind, it was fine. Lobster was a little well done and dry. I have been trying to get a yummy lobster for awhile, not sure this hit the mark. Dinner was still very enjoyable. Place is nice and comfortable.”

“Finding great seafood in Michigan isn’t easy, but this place has officially become our go-to spot. The atmosphere is excellent—we really love the classic brick structure and overall vibe. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. A huge standout for us was when we mentioned we were sharing our meal; without us even asking, they split the dishes into two separate plates beforehand. That kind of thoughtful hospitality is rare and much appreciated. Food-wise, the seafood fettuccine is an absolute winner and highly recommended. The jambalaya, however, missed the mark slightly—it was a bit too wet for our liking. We'd definitely prefer it with less liquid next time. Overall, a fantastic local gem with great service. We will absolutely be back!”

“I liked my pecan whitefish. Good seafood, fried without as much grease as you’d get in New Orleans, perhaps to make it more appealing to central Michigan palates. Overwhelmingly selection of well-made items you won’t find elsewhere. A little pricey, but worth it for special occasions.”

“Wasn't having the best Birthday day but I thought I'd try and end it on a positive note. Unfortunately that didn't happen. I don't normally bash business unless they deserve it. In this case its well deserved. Let me start off by saying the Bartenders service was great and he tried to make things better. However, he wasn't the one making the food. I had the surf and turf. To be blunt it was crap. I took most of it home and fed to my dog. The shrimp as they were call was nothing more than bagged frozen shrimp, not even an attempt to pass them off as something other than such by having tails on them or something. They were way over cooked, almost like chewing old already chewed gum. The Steak, I had asked to medium expecting it to end up being medium well as is usually the case. They screwed up the first steak so much as it didn't make its way out to me. The second attempt ended up being mostly rare to not cooked at all. Had a few bits and this went to the dog as well The asparagus was overcooked and stringy. Potatoes as if they had been rolled in salt... Everything was way over salted/seasoned. I appreciate some but if its all i take someone is trying to make something. Overall the meal was less than what I'd expect out of a truck stop dinner. There are only a few choices In Saline for a sit down dinner, I wouldn't recommend this being one. I've lived her 6 years and have been here a handful of time all have been largely disappointing.”
