My wife and I shared two appetizers and two small plates along with a dessert and some cocktails. Everything was great. The potatoes with chorizo, the quail, the ragu and the risotto. My favorite was my carrot margarita…yes you read that right. We will definitely come back the next time we have childcare!”

“A Trip to Asheville Is Incomplete Without Experiencing Jargon I rarely write online reviews, but after my experience dining at Jargon, I felt genuinely compelled to do so. I took a weekend trip to Asheville from Atlanta and used Amex Concierge to book a reservation at a restaurant that fit a foodie, experiential vibe for a solo diner. I was fortunate enough to experience the chef’s table, which offered an intimate view into the kitchen and the team behind the magic. Jargon was—hands down—the best meal I’ve had in the last one to two years. Coming from a city where restaurants are plentiful and the Michelin Guide frequently recognizes high-end establishments, I could only wish for a place like Jargon at home. I’ve dined at many of those acclaimed spots, and while they are often impeccable, they can lack certain elements that Jargon delivers effortlessly. The restaurant itself is warm and approachable, and the staff genuinely expressed joy in being there. They spoke highly of the owner and clearly took pride in every detail, including how the team was supported—especially during Hurricane Helene. That care shows. The menu, as I understand it, is ever-changing and collaborative, with contributions from the entire kitchen staff. Watching them joke, engage, and support one another during moments of pause made it clear this wasn’t just a team—it was a family. Following recommendations from the hosts and my server, Hailey (apologies if I’ve misspelled her name), I ordered the octopus, hamachi crudo, and the duck. If it weren’t for word censorship, I would use several expletives to accurately—and rightfully—describe how good this menu was. The octopus was grilled perfectly. The hamachi crudo was so delicate, balanced, and flavorful that I ordered it twice. And the duck—my main course—was unforgettable. If I could have ordered it again and again, I absolutely would have. Hailey showed complete confidence in the menu and my selections, guiding me to excellent wine pairings at every turn. Every single bite was perfection—bringing a smile to my face, followed only by disappointment that the experience had to end. The manager checked on me several times throughout the meal, as he did with other tables, and his interactions felt genuine—not obligatory. Each visit came with thoughtful conversation and sincere interest. When it came time for dessert, he shared his top three recommendations. I promptly broke the rules and ordered two of them—despite dining solo—and had zero regrets. I hope this review inspires you to visit Jargon and experience what true talent, artistry, hospitality, and culinary creativity can offer. I already plan to make future trips to Asheville with one specific goal in mind: dining at Jargon again.”

“Treated myself to a solo birthday dinner here in Nov and had a fantastic time. The menu is always changing so it’s an adventure no matter when you go. When I went they had a wonderfully warm winter menu. My favorites of the night were definitely the carrot cinnamon(?) curry soup and the seasonal sorbet— pomegranate and apple cider, what a combo. And the service is top notch; my waiter was very attentive and always ready to answer any questions I had about both the main and dessert menus. Whether you’re local or just visiting treat yourself to a dinner here, you’ll thank yourself for it later.”

“Phenomenal food and experience. The front is very unassuming, yet the food selection, the atmosphere and the service are truly a rare find. We ordered several plates to share, and our server Kurt was fantastic. In visiting from Charlotte, where after 3 years I've found nothing that comes close. Adventurous dishes and an incredible value as well, including cocktails and desserts. A truly "can't miss" restaurant! We will be back as soon as possible!”
