“My fiancée and I were able to get reservations for Valentine’s Day (barely). I called a week ahead thinking that was enough lead time and boy was I mistaken. Thankfully they had a waitlist and the night before when they sent out their confirmation texts to make sure people were gonna show up the next day, enough people cancelled their reservation that we were able to get a time slot. It was somewhat harrowing, but the wait staff that answered the phone were very helpful and prompt in following up. I’m a customer of Susie’s mother’s Steakhouse over in Tallahassee, Marie Livingston, for many a decade. As with many in Tallahassee we were sad to see a Capital City institution close its doors. A while back I heard that Marie’s daughter, Susie, decided to open her own place with her husband, Sam, in Bainbridge in the same style as her mother’s famed restaurant. Apparently Susie had previously worked as a Rockette in New York and Sam as an Opera singer, so naturally opening a Steakhouse would be the next logical career step. That being said if that’s an indicator of quality Steakhouse proprietors, I think more restauranteurs need to be classically trained in the arts. Sam came out personally and sang a clarion rendition of Happy Birthday to several patrons during the meal and it was very festive. Regarding the food, it was a page out of her mother’s book. We both got the bone-in ribeye (medium) and they were cooked just right. The vegetable skewer was cooked hot raw with the Italian dressing, which as memory serves was the same experience at her mother’s restaurant. Even still I enjoyed the nostalgia. This was my fiancée’s first time having French Onion Soup and she said first thing, “where have you been all my life?” I agree, it was excellent. Second only perhaps to Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa, which is a world renowned destination restaurant and famous for that soup. Everything was delicious and a spectacular special occasion restaurant experience.”

“Great first experience! Every staff member was super friendly. Our reservation was at 8:45 but was able to be seated a lot earlier. The calamari is some of the best I have had (yes better than even a lot of places on the coast). The steaks were delicious and cooked to the proper requested temperatures. Great cocktails as well”

“My recent dinner at Susie and Sam's Steak House in Bainbridge was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we sat down, we were treated to a delightful meal with truly exceptional food. The steaks were phenomenal. My filet was cooked perfectly to medium-rare, tender and juicy. The rib eye our table ordered was also cooked beautifully to a perfect medium-rare. They were paired wonderfully with the famous house-made steak sauce. Sam's steak sauce is indeed quite good—it has a great flavor that complements the quality of the meat without overpowering it. The absolute highlight of the meal was the side order of blackened shrimp. They were perfectly seasoned and cooked, a fantastic addition to the main course! We also loved the appetizers and sides. The potato skins were loaded with melted cheese, bacon, and chives, and addictively delicious. A special mention must go to the rolls (as pictured) – they are truly to die for! Warm, soft, and slightly sweet, served with whipped butter. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was excellent. If you're looking for a top-notch steakhouse experience in Bainbridge, Susie and Sam's is the place to go. Highly recommend trying the blackened shrimp!”
