“Are you in Boise? Then you have to stop into this amazing restaurant! From the moment you walk in, you feel important. You are greeted with a smile and swept away to your table. On the way to your table, you are instantly mesmerized by your surroundings as your eyes catch the array of different art features. At your table, you are greeted with still or sparkling water, and your server and server assistant. We ask our server about what he recommends, and he spoke with confidence as he recommended some delicious options. As much as I wanted the table side guacamole, my dates were not into avocados. So duck quesadillas for us, which were amazing and a great portion for sharing. Next came our Lily and Cranberry Martinis, which were served in ice glasses. This paired well with our filet mignon (fire and ice). Our filet was served with a delicious sauce, that had me continuing to go back for more. My date and I shared this filet with a lobster tail added on. We both devoured our meal. Our 3rd guest order the salmon with a dill chimichurri. His salmon was cooked to perfection and his plate was left clean. Looking back, I wished we would’ve saved room for dessert. My only recommendation is to request a table with a view. For our first experience, we were placed in a dark side room, with a TV editing photos, which was entertaining, but lacked a view. In all, you have to stop here! I will be back for sure!”
“If you have never had a meal at Barbacoa, you need to make a reservation now! I took my wife for her birthday and started with the Tableside made Guacamole. We were immediately blown away with the flavor. The "Hot rock" Filet was also amazing. I only wish I took more pictures. I was taking in the sights and tastes of this restaurant. Go, you won't be disappointed.”
“Simply an outstanding experience. The atmosphere is bustling but very comfortable, and outside seating on a lovely night enhanced the evening with beautiful views. We started with the tuna tartare, which was a delicious and refreshing appetizer. My wife had the short rib pappardelle, which was a very generous portion and richly flavorful. I had the ribeye served on a “hot rock” with cognac sauce, and it was magnificent—from the initial presentation to the final bite. Service by Cole K. and Luis (the Sommelier) was friendly, attentive, and effective. The wine list is extensive, and a detailed description of each offering is available on the electronic menu. Pricey, but worth every penny for a truly special meal.”
“Just had a another delightful meal here this evening. Like usual, the top notch quality and consistency has not wavered in at least the last decade that I can attest to... Something increasingly rare for restaurants that serve this volume of guests. Ella was our server and she was an absolute treasure- super attentive and had the best recommendations. I always make it a point to visit every time I am in town. I highly recommend Barbacoa for birthdays as well (the birthday surprise is EVERYTHING!!!). Be sure not to miss Coa de Jima either!”
“Chef’s Kiss dining experience. From the Ambience, to the Service, and my goodness, the FOOD!!! I went to dinner with friends, and I had the Ōra King Salmon dish(not listed on the menu)—cooked to perfection. My friends had the Porterhouse Prime and the Ribeye Steaks which were served on the Hot Rock. Everyone in my party was impressed with the cook of the meat, the depth of flavor, and the presentation. We also shared the Baked Alaska which was the perfect sweet treat to round off our meal. I would 100% recommend this place, and can’t wait to go back.”
