Le Suprême

“I’ve been exploring Detroit’s culinary scene, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed so far. Last night, I had dinner at Le Supreme, and it was an absolute delight. The service was attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed. My sea bass was cooked to perfection! The crispy skin and succulent flesh were simply divine. The staff’s meticulous attention to detail and precise timing made us unaware that our main course was running late. Instead, they surprised us with a decadent crème brûlée for dessert. I’m thoroughly impressed with the entire experience and can’t wait to return for another visit.”

“Le Suprême was my choice for a special anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. Located inside the beautiful Book tower downtown on the corner of Grand River & Washington, this brasserie looked like it was lifted straight put of Paris. The exterior is lovely and warm, with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. The food was largely spectacular and the menu consisted of a number of French delicacies. We started our meal with a bread and butter service as well as the excellent escargots and foie gras. Both were so good we needed additional bread clear the sauces from both plates. For our entrees the table ordered two fantastic steak frites, (which is the safest bet for even the pickiest eater), moules mariniere (Mussels and frites), and a delicious filet mignon au poivre. The mussels were the only thing that we might not order again as it was served with little to no broth which is often a highlight. The wine menu is wonderfully extensive and for dessert we enjoyed coffees and lovely macarons. After dinner we walked around the lobby of the Book Tower which was a lovely little bonus. About the only knock I would give the place is that the server, while friendly and helpful, was frequently absent for long stretches of our meal - however in truth I can't argue that this made the experience all the more authentically Parisian.”

“We were in town for a concert and stopped in for brunch before leaving Detroit, and we weren’t disappointed!! Our server started our meal by telling us about the history of the restaurant and the building, which was fun to learn about! We started with some lovely pastries - the pain au chocolat was probably the best I’ve ever had! I got Eggs Benedict and my husband got the Quiche Lorraine. Both were delicious! The quiche was flavourful, had the perfect flaky crust and just melted in your mouth. My eggs were poached perfectly, and the hollandaise sauce had just a touch of sweetness - exactly how I like it. The potatoes were crisp on the outside and light and fluffy inside, and seasoned well. The portion sizes here are so generous! I was very impressed. It’s definitely great food and well worth the price. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be stopping back for dinner service next time we’re in Detroit!”

“The place was super cute and the staff was amazing, but the food was just alright. We came for a girls night and ordered several drinks and apps and main entrees. The deviled eggs I ordered were good, but I did find a hair on them. The manager did take care of it and removed it off our tab, but it was still disappointing. Most everyone got French fries and they were quite salty and soggy. I got a steak and ordered medium, but it was definitely cooked medium rare and had a weird piece of tendon that was raw running through it. All of the other entrees were VERY buttery. We ordered a few mushroom tartes and the fish. BUT the chocolate soufflé dessert was AMAZING. The redeeming quality of the restaurant. I would definitely just get that again.”

“We started with the 3-cheese platter which was $18. I was shocked when our plate came out and was so sparse. We couldn’t even get 2 pieces of Brie apparently. The bite of the cheese, jam, and bread was a good bite though, just underwhelming presentation and expensive for what you get in my opinion. I also thought the service was slow. We ordered the salmon eggs benedict and the hollandaise was somewhat sour and had no salt. The steak tartare was also flavorless. The environment was so beautiful though it’s a gorgeous space with lots of beautiful architectural details and design. The coffee was good. Everyone was nice and accommodating I just had higher expectations for the food.”
