“Wow! Where do I start? My wife and I are in town for a work conference and we found this place on a whim and we are so glad we did! First we started with their Famous Steak & Biscuits. Absolutely mouth watering tenderloins and the biscuits were baked to perfection. For dinner I got the Prime NY Strip medium rare (more on that in a sec) and my wife got the lobster bisque with a house salad, both very yummy and we found out they actually make their own in house lobster/chicken stocks, which is a nice touch. Now about that strip steak. Melt in your mouth good. This IS the best steak I’ve ever had. The sear on the outside really locked in the flavor of the juices sealed inside. I ate very bite and would go back for more tomorrow. For dessert we went with the crème brûlée, a first for us, and once again we were blown away. A nice crispy crust on the outside with sweet white chocolate on the inside. Perfection. I will add that our server, Peyton, went above and beyond by recommending certain dishes with superior knowledge of all they had to offer. We also spoke with a gentleman who was very knowledgeable as well and forthcoming about their recent menu changes. As this is our first time here I can’t comment on the changes, but I know going forward I will be back with this current menu. Thanks for a great evening!”
“Last week my family and I had a great dinner at Stoney River- we live in the Franklin area and it’s been years since we’ve been. We’ve always enjoyed it it’s just been a a long time. For my birthday dinner this is the place I chose. The entire staff was great, but want to pay special attention to Rachelle who was our server. She was so patient, and was very helpful for our party of 5. The food, may I recommend the coffee tenderloin, so great. That’s again Stoney and thanks Rachelle for such a great experience.”
“Mackenzie was amazing as out waitress!! She gave honest opinion on what we should try. We had an amazing meal!!! I have surgery scheduled today and she made the night special!”
“★★★★★ A Confident, Elevated Evening From the moment I stepped through the door, the restaurant’s signature blend of atmosphere and design immediately reaffirmed why I’ve always loved this space. The hostess—young, dark-haired, and absolutely exceptional—set the tone with a warm welcome and a level of professionalism that made the entire front-of-house team quite literally snap to attention the moment I rounded the corner. It was a masterclass in hospitality. Cocktails and wine service were on point. We opened with an Old Fashioned and a Lemon Drop—both balanced and well executed—and later paired dinner with two glasses of Honig Sauvignon Blanc, which complemented our selections beautifully. For starters, we opted for the Caesar salad and the Ahi tuna. The Caesar arrived as a surprisingly generous portion—good, though large enough to share. The Ahi tuna, however, was plated with genuine artistry: perfectly seared slices arranged over a nostalgic, black-board-eraser–shaped bed of rice, all resting atop bok choy. Very well done. While it didn’t quite eclipse my benchmark from the long-closed Tin Fish in Mokena, IL—where the tuna was served unsliced like a filet mignon alongside those unforgettable, oven-blasted smashed potatoes—it was still a standout dish. The only culinary miss for me was the bread service. The rolls skewed more toward donut territory than fresh, savory table bread. Service pacing was efficient, though I experienced a small moment of disconnect. I arrived about ten minutes ahead of my wife and was seated promptly—within three minutes of checking in. A server approached shortly after to introduce herself and offer to get our drinks, noting that our actual server would be someone else. While I appreciate the good intentions, I personally prefer building rapport directly with the server who will be taking care of us for the evening. It helps create continuity and a more seamless dining experience. Overall, the evening delivered strong hospitality, thoughtful plating, and a warm, polished ambiance. With a few refinements, this spot has all the right ingredients to reach the next tier of dining excellence. I included both pictures of the Ahi Tuna entrees mentioned in the review.”
“I hadn’t been to Stoney River Steakhouse in quite some time and decided to give it another try on a Tuesday night. Unfortunately, the experience reminded me why I had not been back. I ordered a lemon drop that wasn't dropping, if you know you know and the bar service felt disorganized. The bartenders seemed overwhelmed and more focused on cleaning up than providing attentive service. For dinner, I ordered the Tuscan chicken. The potatoes were overwhipped and drenched in butter, and the plate presentation looked careless, almost like the food had just been dropped onto the plate. This is now my second disappointing review after giving the restaurant another chance a few years later, and it does not seem like much has changed. At this point, I do not plan to return. For the price and expectation, I would rather go to Fleming’s for a true upscale dining experience. The deviled were dry as hell who makes deviled with just yoke. I had to drink water to get them down. Meanwhile Bricktops is packed. I should have followed my first mind.”
