“The food was, as expected, very good. Menu highlights are definitely the burger, the french dip, and a cut of the prime rib. All cocktails we tried were also phenomenal and worth it to explore that menu. The service was a stand out - our server gave us great recommendations and offered suggestions. I would absolutely come back and easily recommend to friends!”

“Absolutely worth all of the hype. One of the best meals I’ve had in my life! Brandon, Ian and Julio were all incredible and so kind to me as a solo diner. I thought there was a bar in there (so was hoping to be able to just do walk I’m but there isn’t, only tables). I waited for about an hour for my table around 8:15pm but it was 1000% worth it. Every item that I tried, down to the ice cream and cucumber martini was chefs kiss!!!”

“Somehow despite all the insane hype and the impossibility of getting a reservation, 4 Charles did not disappoint. On a whim, 5 of us lined up half an hour before opening on a Saturday just to see if we could get anything, and Angie was kind enough to find us an opening at 1 PM. Two in our party actually had to see a play at 2:00, but we weren't going to miss this for the world. The wagyu burger hands down is the best burger we've ever had - perfectly cooked, complemented with thick cut bacon and a runny egg. The burger can be split if you are trying multiple items, but no one would blame you if you have the entire burger to yourself. Honestly, it's the best burger out there. French dip is a must-have. We didn't think a sandwich could be that rich in flavor. Prime rib was also fantastic, though it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Several of us were hoping for more traditional steak, but no complaints. Sides were excellent as well, especially the truffle mac and cheese. Most impressive, though, was our server Miguel. He addressed every single one of our menu questions with so much detail, and knowing that two of us needed to leave early, expedited their orders in the kitchen and even offered them a slice of prime rib on the house. He also wouldn't let us leave without dessert, giving us a free try of rum ice cream. The service was truly one-of-a-kind, something you expect at 2 or 3 Michelin star restaurants. Shout out to Miguel for making it such a wonderful experience. 4 Charles is, without doubt, among the best experiences in NYC - provided your can get a reservation.”

“The reservation was difficult to get but so so so worth it. The whole experience from the service to the dessert was just top notch. Although named for the prime rib, the burger was the star of the show. The thick cut bacon with the egg drizzle was spectacular. I wish I could buy the patty blend and make it at home. All starters were tasty as expected and the prime rib was very juicy and perfectly cooked. I’ll go back as soon as I can get another reservation!”

“My review is slightly biased by the “untouchable” reputation this restaurant has built and the pure joy that came with just being able to eat here. Overall the food is good. It’s not the most incredible restaurant in NYC for the price, but you will have a good meal. Loved the bacon, steak, and truffle mac. The burger was also good and I appreciate that they make it a show with the glove and egg cutting. Only thing I was meh on was the French dip but I think that’s just because it was served cold. The ambience is great. Very institutional feeling. I like that it’s an intimate dining space, well decorated, dimly lit - you feel like you’re dining among NYC’s elite. Service was great. Very personable staff and clearly they can recruit the best of the best. I just wish I was on their list so I could eat here more regularly but alas. Well worth”
