Friedman’s at the Edison is an experience all should have when visiting Times Square. Whether it's pre-theatre, after a show or just browsing the area - we're a must do. Located inside the art deco Hotel Edison, our exquisite dining room is truly breathtaking. Friedman's is proud to announce our partnership with Gayle’s Broadway Rose - Singing Servers! Enjoy live music during dinner services on select days. See Upcoming Events below. We consider ourselves the gluten-free pioneers of NYC and our food is always delicious. Dinner at Friedman's consists of classics like Moms Famous Meatloaf, Pan-Seared Ginger Salmon and Chicken & Waffles. With a wide range of options for vegetarians and vegans, we know how to make anyone feel like family. Our extensive wine list and hand-crafted cocktails shouldn't go unnoticed either. Join us at our wrap around bar before your meal in the dining room.
“Absolutely loved this restaurant! It’s a larger space but still feels warm and welcoming. The gluten-free options were excellent - clearly thoughtfully prepared. The matcha latte was one of the best I’ve had in a restaurant: perfectly balanced and thankfully not overly sweet. The absolute highlight for us were the cheese blini - incredibly delicious and something I’d come back for alone. Service was friendly overall, although our waitress rushed us a bit at times. Still, the food and atmosphere easily made this a 5-star experience!”
“This has to be the best breakfast I've had in a long time. My mother has celiac disease so I always look for gluten free places to take her to. This time, I found Friedman's so this is where I took her for her birthday. We had breakfast before a Broadway show and we're still talking about it days later. We've already discussed coming back and are actively making plans. She said it's the most delicious gluten free bread she has ever had and wished they sold it in loafs to take home. We can't say enough good things about this place. People without reservations had a bit of a wait. Be sure to make one if you decide to go. It's worth it!”
“Perfect all around. Food is convenient and very filling. Decent price range and great menu offerings and range. Thank you Sean from Edison ballroom for the best company an ole gal can get in NYC. Felt extremely comfortable and loved the tour xx Enjoy your weekend everyone. Stay safe 🙏🏴⚽️🎀🤪🍺🫶🌸”
“We had a great experience at Friedman’s. My daughter has celiac disease, and our waitress Jaime was outstanding—she clearly explained the menu, walked us through safe options, and made us feel confident everything would be prepared carefully. That level of attention made a big difference. The food was excellent. The Korean sticky wings and mac and cheese were both delicious, and we shared the steak sandwich, which was cooked perfectly. Dessert was a standout—the chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream were outstanding. My only critique is the timing—our entrées came out while we were still eating appetizers, which made the table feel a bit crowded and rushed. Overall, great experience, and we would definitely return.”
“Pretty fair prices. No complains on the food it was just your typical breakfast/lunch restaurant. My cousin ordered the pancakes I believe? And I ordered the grilled cheese which was pretty good. Like I said just your average food place. Very dissatisfied with the service, the ladies up front were very nice and gave us a seat where we could tuck our luggage behind our seats but our actual server was so rude. Did not check on us once and when she finally came up to us all she asked was if we wanted the check and when I asked for another beverage she seemed irritated. After that I didn't even bother ordering the other food item I was looking forward to trying. They didn't even have any line and there were plenty of empty tables even if there were other customers.”
