The Lobster Club, a Japanese Brasserie by Major Food Group, is a fixture within Midtown Manhattan's iconic Seagram Building. Designed by architect Peter Marino in collaboration with MFG, the dynamic space reflects an outstanding – perhaps extravagant - interpretation of Japanese cuisine. Using classic techniques like tempura, gyoza, yakitori and robata, along with a focus on Teppanyaki and Sushi, The Lobster Club sources fish directly from Tokyo's Tsukiji market to ensure the highest level of quality. Everything on the menu is designed to be shared, encouraging a spirit of informal fun.
“The Lobster Club - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a free night in NYC visiting my daughter, and after a big steak dinner the night before, we were looking for something completely different. Boy did we get lucky. Not sure if we just lucked out or if the whole staff is this good, but our server Jenny was a huge part of why this was such a great night. She was patient, listened to what we were after, gave perfect recommendations, and the service was flawless. Going in, the name “Lobster Club” had us thinking lobster, sushi, Japanese, seafood. What I did NOT anticipate was how amazing the “Wagyu Sando” dish would be. Honestly I didn’t understand their initial explanations but WTH, right? Although we didn’t know what to expect, everyone we asked recommended it first, so we went for it. Now I get why New Yorkers rave about it. Tasted incredible and we devoured it, but it is definitely NOT a “sliders” app. Just try it, I promise you’ll love it. We also had a spicy lobster app and a few other fabulous dishes, & some sushi, which were all great. Shout out to Resy for the suggestion, and again to Jenny for making the whole night.”
“Me and some friends celebrated our girlfriend’s birthday at Lobster House this past Saturday, and it was such a great experience! The customer service was truly top tier. Our waiter, Muta, was amazing super patient, answered all of our questions, and gave excellent recommendations. The food was delicious, honestly, everything we ordered was good, which is rare! What really stood out was that we were literally the last ones to leave, and the staff never rushed us at all. They made us feel comfortable the entire time. Highly recommend!!”
“Food was good I wanted to try more yet didn’t have time would try again when I return to NYC. Price was stiff for the meals the drinks was fair had a soba old fashion Japanese whiskey definitely worth the taste.”
“We came to The Lobster Club on a Saturday evening for a celebratory dinner. The restaurant wasn’t too busy, but we were first seated in a high-traffic area and had to ask to be moved. It seemed like booths were reserved, which felt a bit limiting for a special occasion. The food was very good overall. We enjoyed the Wagyu Shiitake Fried Rice, Crispy Rice, Garlic Chicken, Branzino, and the Wagyu Truffle Sando. The Truffle Sando was absolutely delicious, though pricey at $66 for four small bites. For cocktails, the Cucumber Shiso was refreshing and memorable, while the Yuzu Paloma was watery and underwhelming. Service was fine, but there was no complimentary dessert, which many NYC restaurants offer and would have made the evening feel more special. Overall: great flavors, but celebratory touches didn’t quite match the price point.”
“Full disclosure the beginning and the end were incredible. The middle not so much The service at the front desk and from the wait staff is impeccable first class. Walking past the bar I realized this wasn’t the place for us. There must have been 20 people at the bar. Not one woman. Not a one. It was filled with loud finance bros. We got our drinks pronto and they have a great mixologist for sure. Then in 7 minutes from taking our order there was more food brought to the table than fit on it. Did they have it waiting before we arrived? That’s how it felt. Rushed and massed produced. The edamame, way overly kosher salted so much so you had to scrape it off before eating it. The rock shrimp, overly fried and tasteless like they came from a chain restaurant. The salmon ikura roll, tasteless and not even served with wasabi or soy sauce. The only standout was the Ume Shiso rice which unfortunately was served solo. I don’t know about you but when did rice become its own meal? The lobster dumplings, so so. The wok lobster was coated in a slimy almost corn starch coating that didn’t please the palate at all and were so difficult to pry out of the shell without grabbing the slippery shells with your hands. The only true standout was the coconut raspberry snowball, perhaps one of the best desserts either one of us have ever had in our lives. They are not struggling for business as the place was mobbed. They’ll just have to do without mine. It has been years since I’ve been there and all I kept thinking was how did this happen”
