Lou’s Pointe Claire is an American restaurant in the Pointe Claire neighborhood of Pointe Claire.
“I can’t believe it took me this long to write this review. Lou’s is hands down my favourite solo date spot on the island of Montreal. I’ve been here at least 10 times and it has never disappointed. The lychee martini is incredible, the food is consistently delicious and I’ve tried a good chunk of the menu at this point. The chocolate cake dessert is a must. The wait staff are always so kind and make solo dining feel genuinely comfortable and welcoming. The overall energy of this place is top tier every single time. Couldn’t recommend it enough.”
“Had a fantastic evening group of seven ladies, and the experience was flawless from start to finish. Finding a spot that handles a larger group with such grace can be a challenge, but this restaurant nailed it. Exceptional Service The absolute highlight of our night was our server, Haylo. Managing a group of seven can be like herding cats, but Haylo was attentive, witty, and perfectly timed with every course. We never felt rushed, yet our glasses were never empty—truly top-tier hospitality that made us feel like VIPs. The Flavors We shared a variety of dishes and cocktails, and a few items truly stole the show: • Rosemary Gin Fizz: This was a masterclass in balance. The piney fragrance of the rosemary paired beautifully with the botanical gin, making for a refreshingly sophisticated start to the evening. • Pasta Genovese: Rich, savory, and deeply comforting. The depth of flavor in the sauce suggested a lot of patience in the kitchen; it was easily the table favorite. • Roasted Half Chicken: It’s rare to find a roasted chicken that is both incredibly juicy on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. It was seasoned to perfection and served as the ideal anchor for our shared meal. Final Verdict If you are looking for a place that combines a vibrant atmosphere with high-quality cuisine and service that actually cares, look no further. Whether you’re a group of seven or a party of two, this place delivers. Ask for Haylo—you won’t regret it!”
“What a gem… The atmosphere and staff immediately make you feel so welcome and warm. The drinks are very unique and tasty, surprised they had Guinness on tap and it was up to par. We shared the Caesar salad and the half chicken, so tasty ! You can tell they care in the little details, the menus and coasters are beautiful, they continuously fill your water glass as the evening goes by and are attentive to all your needs. Super clean and cute bathrooms. I’d recommend Lou’s for a date night or a nice dinner out with friends. Special shout out to our talented bar tender Daniel and Ryan who made sure we had exactly what we needed, when we needed it. The manager Jono was super friendly and accommodating; 11/10 !”
“Went on a Saturday night before what it seemed to be a private event around 8. Tuna carpacio is pretty good and portion is fine but lacking acidity. wolffish(loup de mer) with potatoes is extremely small, we are talking about 50 grams of fish, when it came it felt like an appetizer. Fish portion should be doubled at least to be a sufficient protein portion in a restaurant. Potatoes in that meal not fully cooked through but overall the taste of the dish is very good although too salty. The burger is fine for the price. I feel overall that the food is not memorable although I want it to be especially in the west island, seems juvenile a bit. Cocktails were good. Overall dining experience is good. The service lacks experience and engagement, not up to par with price of food. I’d expect more knowledge and confidence when talking about meals, it is not a bistro. Also servers were all talking behind the bar instead of making sure everyone had what they needed, seems like most tables had empty drinks. Service should always be better than food because that’s what brings up up the value. Overall i like it but the potential of this restaurant is not developped. Keep going! We want you guys to succeed!”
“I was quite disappointed with my experience at Lou’s. I had heard great things, so my expectations were high. The food was good, but the service was very lacking. We ordered a bottle of wine and had to remind our server multiple times, as well as two other staff members, and never received it even after finishing our meal. Our server seemed more focused on drinking &chatting behind the bar than attending to our table. It wasn’t very busy, which made the lack of service even more surprising, especially as tables seated next to us were served promptly. Unfortunately, the service overshadowed the overall experience.”
