Pearl 6101, a dining room and full bar built inside of a restored turn-of-the-century apothecary, is the latest concept from the restaurateurs behind San Francisco’s Pizzetta 211 and Paladar 511 in New Orleans. The menu is California-meets-Mediterranean, and encompasses handmade pastas, seasonal produce, and seafood. Don't miss the inventive cocktails for pairing. Best of all, it’s primarily female-driven.
“Me and my husband had a great dining experience. The oysters were very fresh and naturally sweet, and beautifully presented. The scallops were generously sized and perfectly cooked, nicely seared on the outside while tender inside. The salad was light and refreshing, and the pistachio tiramisu was absolutely amazing!!! My husband and I both loved it. It’s the kind of dessert that makes you go “wow, this is so good” after the first bite. The mussels themselves were flavorful, but the bread served with them was a bit over toasted, almost burnt. The ambiance was warm and cozy, and the service was great. We would definitely come back.”
“Had dinner here with my family on a Thursday night and it was busy (expected for such a great neighborhood gem). Everything we ordered, from drinks to food, was really solid, and the service was great throughout the night. The standout dishes for us were the roasted cauliflower and the pork chop, definite crowd favorites. The only downside was the noise level inside, it got pretty loud and made it a bit hard to hear each other. Overall, a really good experience and would definitely come back!”
“Had a great dinner at Pearl 6101! We grabbed the chips & dip while waiting for our table — super good and tasty, definitely worth it. Then we had the Japanese sweet potato as an appetizer, which was insanely good. For mains, we tried the Handkerchief and Crescenza Caramelle pastas — both were delicious, and you can tell the pasta is homemade. The whole vibe of the place is really cozy and fun. Make sure to get a reservation in advance as this place is always busy!”
“I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at The Pearl 6101 in San Francisco. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The Japanese sweet potatoes were an unexpected standout, perfectly roasted with a caramelized edge that made them both comforting and elegant. The kampachi crudo was bright and fresh, with a delicate balance of flavors that let the fish shine. The scallops were seared to perfection, tender and buttery, while the lamb pasta was rich, deeply flavorful, and one of the most satisfying pasta dishes I’ve had in a long time. You can tell the kitchen puts real care and creativity into every plate. What made the evening even more special was the exceptional service. Our waiter was incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable, the kind of service that makes you feel genuinely taken care of without ever being intrusive. From start to finish, The Pearl delivered a warm, refined, and memorable dining experience. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!”
“Pearl 6101 provides a small but quality selection of snacks, appetizers, pasta, entrees, and desserts. Service was warm and welcoming, and we were able to enjoy some bread and drinks while waiting for a table. We ultimately sat at the bar, but it was comfy, and we never felt like we were waiting to be served. Naturally, the restaurant is pricey. We ate family style and ordered hush puppies, roasted cauliflower, gnocchi, seared scallop, and chocolate panna cotta (one from each of the menu categories). They were all excellent. The hush puppies were vaguely like falafel. The dill sauce was pleasant but maybe under-salted for my taste. The cauliflower had a nice mix of flavors on account of the nuts, balsamic reduction, and raisins. The seared scallop had three types of corn, making for a delicious sauce with varied texture. The scallop was buttery and soft but a little on the fishy side. My partner felt that it was a little overcooked. The gnocchi plate was like a delicate forest floor; microgreens, truffle cheese with roasted chili peppers, shredded mint, and fluffy potato pillows made for an excellent and fresh tasting dish. I definitely appreciated the subtle spice on the rind of soft shaved cheese. We opted for the chocolate panna cotta at the end which came with toasted cacao nibs which were like coffee chocolate crisps. This dessert definitely inspired me to make something similar as a sweet hors d'oeuvre for a potluck or party. Overall an excellent meal, and I certainly appreciated the generous amounts of flaky salt on each dish. Pearl 6101 provided a nice little post card, so definitely a cute and memorable meal if you're visiting San Francisco.”
