“If you love Copycat on H st NE, you’ll love this place! I didn’t realize it was the same owners! Similar vibe - too small and hard to get a reservation, but worth it… SO GOOD and amazing service! You can just tell the bartender what you like, and they will make you an amazing drink! The walnut shrimp is my absolute fav (didn’t even take a picture because I gobbled it up haha)! The basil eggplant was also amazing. Will definitely be back!”
“My father took my wife and I out to Astoria for a late birthday dinner. It is difficult getting a reservation to this place mainly because they only allow you to book one week out. Luckily we were able to get a reservation. We ordered a bunch of items and share them all which is probably the best way to go. The dishes that stood out were the beef noodles, walnut shrimp, and chili wonton. If you tell them your preferred flavors, they can curate the perfect Mock-tail or cocktail for you. Their drinks were amazing. We had a great experience and our excited to go back again. This is in addition to the staff being fantastic. Parking is tough and the restaurant is small, which makes it a little bit more exclusive.”
“Went here for a girls night and it did not disappoint I arrived as a walk in at 5 pm and was promptly seated upon opening for my party of 3 with no issues. If you don’t have a reservation I’d recommend arriving early and walking in For drinks, we had a gimlet, and 1 of their specialty gin drinks. They were both delicious and well balanced. For food we had pea shoots, the la zi chicken, chimmichuri steak crab fried rice, Dan Dan noodles, potatoes and salt and pepper eggplant. Ever since dish was unique and absolutely delicious. The shocker of the Jonny were the potatoes which were cut like noodles, spicy, and flavorful! I also loved the eggplant and couldn’t get enough of it! Service was also top tier! Definitely will be back”
“Make a reservation! It's very popular and I know why. This was my second visit here. I went many years ago and the high quality is still there. Very flavorful food. Some spicy, be careful. Cozy atmosphere. We sat in the window counter. Service was good and the staff were nice.”
“The food was generally good, and the lamb soup was especially delicious. The dan dan noodles were decent, but I think they could be a bit richer and oilier. The flavor lacked some punch and depth. One downside was the wait time. It took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive, which felt too long. The dining area was also quite cramped. While seated, people passing by frequently bumped into us, which was uncomfortable and inconvenient. Additionally, the music was very loud, which took away from the overall dining experience.”
