A cozy & lively restaurant in Vancouver’s Chinatown that cultivates casual & intimate dining experiences with small bites to be shared amongst friends and family. Our dishes are rooted in Chinese tradition; integrating seasonal ingredients and modern cooking techniques to create unique plates with a global influence. Dumplings are handmade by Helen & Maggie with farm fresh vegetables or foraged goods delivered everyday. Fully embracing all that the Chinese diaspora & immigrant experience has to offer. It might not be your 婆婆's kitchen, but we're cooking up something new that's deeply familiar. Can't find what you're looking for? Email us at info@bao-bei.ca and we would be happy to assist.
“A spectacular chefs choice restaurant! In this culinary treat we were served dishes that highlighted the story of the chefs with elements from their various backgrounds and skill sets. We were served luxurious beef tartar with succulent bone marrow packed with intensely rich umami flavors. Deliciously seasoned pork dumplings. A lovely combination of bok choy served in a more Filipino style sauce and sausage. An exquisite sandwich coated with sesame seeds (shao bing) filled with lush lamb, crisp greens, onions and a light sauce combined with a satisfying crunch from the flatbread. Finally one of my favorite dishes was porkbelly with a cucumber salad and a vibrant Vietnamese cilantro sauce that brought a refreshing brightness to the richness of the pork belly. Truly an incredible meal. My favorite meal in Vancouver thusfar.”
“Went for mother's day brunch there was 7 of us. The menu was a set menu and everything was delicious. Great service very attentive every dishes was explained what it was. Highly recommended !!!”
“Had a really great experience here—the atmosphere is cozy and stylish, perfect for a relaxed night out. The dishes were overall well executed; the beef tartare and bone marrow were a bit on the salty side for me, but the crispy tofu and the baos were definite highlights and absolutely delicious. Service was friendly and easygoing, making the whole experience feel comfortable. Nice place to try:)”
“Here’s a polished, high-impact Google review you can drop in: ⸻ Just had one of those meals you keep thinking about long after you leave. The Campeche credo was absolutely insane — that perfect marriage of creamy richness and layered heat in every bite. You could tell there’s real intention behind the flavour balance, not just spice for the sake of it. Bar service was just as impressive — friendly, welcoming, and operating at another level. The cocktails were dialed in and crafted with care, not rushed. You feel looked after the whole time. And then… the chocolate flan. Unreal. Silky, decadent, and the perfect finish to an already standout experience. This is the kind of place that gets it right across the board — food, service, and atmosphere all working together. Highly recommend.”
“My partner and I came to check out this restaurant and left seriously impressed. The menu is mostly small plates designed for sharing, which made it really fun to order a bunch of dishes and try a bit of everything. As vegans, we were especially happy with how accommodating the kitchen was. The menu does not specifically label vegan items, but our server let us know that most of the veggie and tofu dishes are already vegan or can easily be made vegan. They were even able to make the fried rice vegan, which was a great surprise. The service really stood out. Even though the restaurant was packed, the staff were warm, helpful, and made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. The space itself is stunning. It has a beautiful Asian inspired aesthetic with umbrellas hanging from the ceiling that make the whole room feel lively and unique. The energy in the restaurant was amazing and it felt like the kind of place you want to linger in. Overall such a fun spot with great food and a great atmosphere. The eggplant was easily our favorite dish and I would come back just for that.”
