“The food was great, but the service was even better. Don't get me wrong, we all go out to eat for the food but our server was AMAZING! Alicia made us feel as if we were the only guests in the restaurant. Extremely attentive, extensive knowledge of the menu (including drink options), and a delightful joy. We expressed being out of state visitors and she shared about other restaurants in partnership with Mike's and what they offer. ***I hope mgmt shares this with her. 😊*** We ordered the calamari, drunken ribeye, and the crab cake & filet mignon, key lime pie, and apple pie. EVERYTHING was delicious. 😋 If there wasn't as much to see & do during our vacation, I'd consider coming back to try other offerings.”
“I ordered the 6-ounce filet mignon cooked medium rare, and it was delicious, tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes and mushrooms were excellent as well and complemented the steak nicely. I also enjoyed the basket of assorted breads, which was very good. Customer service was outstanding from the moment we walked in, upstairs, and throughout the dining experience at the table. My only suggestion would be to have a restroom upstairs instead of only in the basement. Other than that, this is one of the best American steakhouses I’ve visited.”
“Enjoyed some really good food and drinks. Walked in with 2 guests and got seated immediately on a Saturday evening. We ordered the tex mex eggrolls, a pineapple mojito, a mango mojito, smoke salmon with mash potatoes, chopped robbed salad with added salmon, an order of sweet potato fries, and 2 classic margaritas. Everything was delicious and come out in a timely fashion. Definitely will be back.”
“Mike American Grill is a wonderful place to dine! The food was delicious, and the building itself is beautiful and historical, with three floors and a very nice layout. The kitchen setup is impressive, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We had pasta with seafood, salmon, and dessert—everything was perfectly presented and tasted amazing. We also celebrated my friend’s birthday there and truly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended for both the food and the atmosphere! 🎉🍽️”
“At the risk of sounding like a hater, I’m going to throw out a potentially controversial opinion, which is that if you have been to any of the great American restaurants you have been to all of them and if you have been to this particular one you have been to the worst one. Just based on vibes. Look, if you’re looking for a nice relaxing dinner then go to Artie‘s in Fairfax. Or even literally any other location. This is mostly a criticism of the vibe in this particular location. First of all the parking is horrendous. No one can say otherwise it’s just terrible and people are cutthroat and honestly it’s better parking across the street and making the trek. But then you get inside and you’re questioning yourself. Is this worth it? It’s just so loud and chaotic and confusing you feel like you’re being shuttled around like cattle and there’s always people milling about in a haphazard way it’s just very stressful honestly. The servers always just look so frazzled, and this affects the service in a negative way. The food is like all the other great American restaurants consistently delicious honestly really good. You guys know this but the atmosphere is just bad in this one I’m telling you just go to a different location please do yourself a favor.”
