“Just a special experience from start to finish. The food was thoughtful, creative, and delicious across every bite and course. The staff was incredible, made you feel like family. They were so informative but also approachable, fun, and felt like friends sharing fun facts. Should be on every sushi lovers bucket list! Cant wait to go back.”
“This has been my third Michelin Star restaurant and what Omakase does incredibly well is it's intimacy. This does not feel like a restaurant in a traditional sense. The stairs are lined with imprints of fish that they serve every day and the room is no larger than a studio apartment but the close proximity and charming staff make it feel like you're entering someone's home. Each item is crafted with love and our server was incredibly knowledgeable, being able to tell the story of each menu item with amazing detail. My favorite item was the rockfish supplement, but by no means was any dish less than perfect. Miso soup is served as a halfway marker of this marathon dining experience and this surprised me as one of my absolute favorites of the night. The menu changes seasonally so I plan to be back but next time with the sake pairings ( I was the dd). The chef and his sous are charming and experts at this craft and you can tell they love to share their talent with others. 10/10.”
“Wonderful experience! Gabriel really took our experience to another level. Chef Ricky and Gabriel were super friendly, informative, and conversational. One of our favorites bites from our DC trip!”
“Omakase at Barracks Row was quite simply the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. Chef Ricky, Gabriel, and Chef Aaron elevate the entire experience to another level. The quality of every single bite is outstanding—each course somehow tastes better than the last. The care, precision, and intention behind every piece is immediately evident. If you’re wondering whether it’s worth the splurge, it most certainly is. I truly cannot say enough good things. I’ve dined at other Michelin-star sushi restaurants, and none compare to the quality, attention to detail, and—most importantly—the flavor here. I enjoyed the experience so much that I went twice in one week, and even in that short span of time, the menu evolved substantially. That level of creativity and freshness is rare. This is a truly unique dining experience and worth every penny. It’s now a must-visit for me whenever I’m in DC.”
“From the moment we stepped into the intimate omakase at Barracks Row, we knew we were in for something extraordinary — but Chef Ricky, Aaron and Gabrielle delivered an experience far beyond expectations. Every course felt like a story — perfectly paced, beautifully presented, and bursting with creativity. Chef Ricky’s precision and artistry turned each bite into a masterpiece, while Gabrielle’s warm presence and impeccable sake pairings tied it all together like a symphony. The ingredients were pristine, the flavors balanced with genius delicate, bold, and surprising all at once. There were moments when the room went completely silent because everyone was just in awe of what was happening in front of them. From buttery otoro that melted like silk to a uni creation that tasted like the ocean itself, and a lots of caviar it was pure magic. This isn’t just dinner — it’s theater, poetry, and passion rolled into one unforgettable experience. Chef Ricky, Aaron and Gabrielle have created something truly special — a hidden gem. If you’re lucky enough to score a seat, go. Trust the process, savor every second, and prepare to have your mind completely blown. Highly recommend!”
