“We had such an amazing experience at Espelta. The food was absolutely incredible — every dish we tried was full of flavor and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was just as special: cozy, warm, and genuinely felt like being in someone’s home. The location is also perfect, just a short and pleasant walk from the park, which made the whole outing even better. Our server was fantastic and really helped guide us through the menu, recommending dishes we ended up loving. Honestly, we loved everything we had and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!”
“Espelta was an incredible experience from start to finish. Everything we ordered was truly top quality, and the food was outstanding. Fernando, our waiter, made the night even better — he was amazing, extremely attentive, and on point with every request. His service really elevated the entire experience. We started with the trucha al cedro, which was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. The queso fundido was rich and comforting, done perfectly. The New York Wagyu cut was a highlight — expertly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly high quality. The aguachile was fresh, vibrant, and well balanced. To finish, the cheesecake (leche bronca) was the perfect cherry on top — indulgent without being heavy and a fantastic way to end the meal. Between the food, service, and overall quality, Espelta is a place we’ll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommended.”
“Every dish was incredible. We loved the white fish tostadas, queso fundido con hongos (mmmm tomatillo salsa), and the camote chickpea stew. The service was excellent and the ambiance was too! We will be back!”
“Popped in on a Saturday around noon time. Although Google Maps said they were open, there were no other patrons inside but Fernando seated us after quickly checking with the backhouse. The decor was clean, warm, and organic. Although the entrees sounded delicious, we kept it light as we had a lot of walking to do that afternoon. We ordered the grilled beet and carrot salad, Espelta flatbread, and the white trout tostadas. Everything was fresh and delicious and Fernando's service was warm and impeccable. We'd love to go back some day and try some of those amazing sounded pastas and desserts.”
“We had high hopes given the reviews, but the meal didn’t deliver. The dining room is beautiful—though a door left open to the kitchen revealed trash and rags strewn across the floor, and the lights were so bright we might as well have been in a Walmart. The spelt amuse-bouche arrived rock-hard and inedible. Our appetizers were a strange combination of flavors—and likewise impossible to eat. We skipped the main course and left. And the door to the bathroom is in the photo. Your view from your seat.”
