“We had an amazing first experience at Franko’s Prime. Every meal was cooked incredibly and our server Matthew was really great. Would 100% come back!”
“Very romantic and the staff is ask you right away when they're seating you, are you celebrating anything tonight? That was nice to have that kind of attention to detail.. Also, the food is spectacular. We loved every bite of it. A little on the pricey side. But not as pricey as other steakhouses presented in very classy Dining experience.. Beautiful presentation of food, beautiful presentations of high end classy decor. We were well attended to no need was gone without attention The weight staff was right there. Asking you're every desire, every need. We were there as a mother's day and father's day gift from my son. It was excellent.”
“Matthew was an excellent server! We will absolutely be back. Food was fantastic. Gnocchi and tartare were out of this world- and of course the steaks! Awesome run down of the menu as well. 10/10”
“So excited to have a second Frankos location nearby. If you are a fan on the original location, it’s highly likely you will enjoy this new concept. Similar but with a “prime” twist. Everything was very good. Highlights were the meatballs with polenta, burger, and ribeye. We haven’t yet tried the Wagyu strip but it will be the next thing we order. Recommend giving Franko’s Prime a try. A great addition to the north Raleigh food scene.”
“We love exploring Raleigh’s steakhouse scene and were excited to try the new Franko’s Prime. To set the barometer, I personally feel that Vinnie’s is the best steakhouse in Raleigh overall, with honorable mentions to Perry’s, Oak, and Sullivan’s on a good night. Consider this review with that in mind. Overall: We had a nice night in a beautiful restaurant with great service and hit-or-miss food. Drinks: I had the Lily Pond Martini (“made to skate”) and it was an exceptional drink. I would honestly come back for this drink alone. My husband had the smoked old fashioned made with the cinnamon bark and it lived up to its prominent spot on the drink menu. Smoky without choking you out. Bread: I’m totally cool with a place who charges a premium price for great bread, and this focaccia has great flavor but unfortunately we got a piece that was completely hollowed out. Now don’t think I don’t understand that focaccia has large bubbles. Large bubbles are fine but personally I wouldn’t have let this piece leave the kitchen. See pic. Appetizers: We split a wedge that was crispy cold and had good flavor but was too light on tomatoes and lardon. The pork belly unfortunately did not have much flavor and was not seared well. However the apple salad served with the pork belly was delicious and salvaged the dish. Steak: We had the wagyu flank which I’ll accept is an unconventional choice to judge a steakhouse on, however this is not a cut that any other steakhouse in Raleigh serves so we were intrigued. We were expecting a lean cut but which would require a thoughtful cook and thorough seasoning. Unfortunately this steak had neither. Overcooked and underseasoned. Would not order again. Seafood Cannelloni: I rarely see this great dish offered in Raleigh so was excited to try. It was packed with fresh tasting seafood and the sauce was delicious. My only complaint about this dish was the spiciness. I love spicy food but was not expecting the level of heat this traditionally mild dish had. This struck me as an odd choice that might rub some folks the wrong way as there’s no mention of straying from a traditional non-spicy preparation in the description. Sides: Whipped sweet potatoes were simple and well-seasoned - delicious! Tartiflette was excellent and packed with flavor, served bubbling hot. Mac and cheese had beautiful sauce but it was overwhelmingly garlicky, to the point where that flavor overtook the whole dish. Dessert: White chocolate bread pudding was tasty and massive, but the key lime pie was the star of the show. This was, unequivocally, the best key lime pie I have ever had. Better than Key West, seriously. Perfectly balanced on all accounts. Perfect textures. Just an overall excellent dessert. I’m honestly not sure if we’ll go again. The service was excellent but the food was just too hit or miss at this price point. I think the kitchen has some work to do on either standardizing seasoning or reworking some recipes.”
