“The KC strip was excellent and so was the filet. Both were cooked to order and seasoned well. My wife had a well made dirty martini, cocktails were great. We really enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms and Cesar salad as well. Their coffee is good and they sell it at their cafe next door. We plan to go back and buy some to brew at home. The building is unique and the history behind it is interesting. Our waitress was attentive and kind. We would like to dine there again.”

“This is a historical restaurant you should visit for the experience! Amazing it's reopened and appears to be doing quite well! Our special occasion was celebrated with friends and family and reservations well in advance! Thank goodness we took the time to do so! The atmosphere is one of the best around, which set the tone for our night! Our drinks were wonderful and taste to perfection! Our steaks were all different cuts, and 4 of the 7 were pretty tough, and kinda disappointing! We dealt with it and never complained or let it hinder our evening! The flavors were good for the food! The escargot appetizers were the best we'd ever had! Our entire group was overly impressed! In addition, the members of our group that had never tried escargot was filling up on the delicacies! Great choice! Parking can be a bit of a challenge with apartment buildings all around, and a half lit lot! We'd definitely visit again to give it another try and enjoy out evening out! Our next visit, I'd request to drop everybody off at the front entrance and find a parking spot afterwards! We hope you enjoyed your evening as well as we did!”

“Drinks and food were amazing!! KC Strip was a little bland, but otherwise atmosphere and our waitress were amazing!! Will be coming back for the bone marrow (forgot to take pics, it was so good), oysters, and the wedge salad.”

“Our 1st time at Golden Ox was good. Cocktails were solid, food was good and service was outstanding. We had the porterhouse, lobster mac n cheese, broccollin and carrot cakei. Steak was done nice and flavorful.”

“It was Awful took my wife for her birthday/Anniversary dinner. Spent over 200 dollars her steak had no flavor cooked improperly. I had a fish dish and steak both entrees were not good. Over crooked , and tasteless, total lackluster. Waitress was nice but didn't noting to make the experience special . I won't be returning. We are foodies and don't mind spending money on high quality meals. It's such a waste for a real nice historic space. Get better chefs and staff and when a couple says in the reservation it a special date try to do a better or a least decent job to provide a experience worth remembering. VERY DISAPPOINTED. SADLY😣”
