“I know it's been here forever, but I had never visited until last week. I know, where I have been, right?? 🤷‍♀️ The salad bar was really great and the bread is ridiculously good. My halibut was truly excellent. My husband had the scallops and steak, he especially enjoyed the scallops. As an aside, I'm sure the rice is super popular but for both of us it was WAY too salty and overwhelming in the sauce flavor. I would have preferred plain rice or potato as it was too heavy of a flavor next to the light halibut. I do wish they would let you substitute it for something else, like a baked potato. But unfortunately, one has to pay for a whole other side. I still enjoyed my meal despite that annoyance. The server was very attentive and we had a nice experience overall!”

“The restaurant has an elegant dining environment, but the lighting is dim, making it impossible to take good photos of the food. However, the portions are generous, and the lobster, steak, and salmon were all grilled to perfection – tender and juicy. The food was delicious and the ingredients were of high quality. Highly recommended.”

“We came for dinner to celebrate a birthday. The rice and t-bone was very flavorefull. The vegetable were excellent and they have a salad bar that you can make your own salad.”

“Another long time Santa Barbara favorite, Chuck’s offers traditional steakhouse fare with a Hawaiian flare. They have a selection of beef cuts to choose from (I prefer the New York strip, medium rare) and several non-steak options to accommodate most people’s tastes. Meals include a trip to the salad bar with amply sized plates and bowls to ensure you get enough. The food is good and I find the service equally good, even when it busy (which is often). There’s a full bar with separate seating if you’re so inclined or prefer an even more casual and social experience. That being said, the general vibe is very casual and it’s not unlikely to see people wearing anything from shorts and a t-shirt to slacks and a button up - not unlike many Hawaiian restaurants.”

“Happy hour (HH) review: We call to confirm happy hour, person confirms. Show up, get seated at patio, then wait 10 minutes before flagging someone down for a (HH) menu. Girl says there's no happy hour, but will check with a manager, as we said we had just called, and there is a website menu. Comes back with a single happy hour menu, says manager said yes even though other server said no earlier, then leaves to not be seen again. (Not true, we did see her later with the check.) It is almost 6 (when HH closes), so wife goes in to order, is met with other unfriendly server who talks then leaves her, then remembers about order because my wife catches her eye again, so wife finally gets to put out order in. We each ordered the HH steak bites of the three different types on HH (there were 3 adults in our party), and they were fine, but for the money you would get a bigger and/or more flavorful deal elsewhere. The wine was ok, as was the margarita, and the Mai tai was quite good, but not good enough to carry the horrible service and ok food.”
