Il Cantinori, located in Greenwich Village, has been at the forefront of Tuscan cuisine in NYC since its opening in 1983. This old farmhouse with a rustic warmth, stucco walls, wooden beams and voluminous floral arrangements is very romantic and elegant. We combine the unique traditional flavors of the Tuscan countryside with a complete seasonal lunch and dinner menu. We welcome guests with affectionate hospitality, daily specials and a wine list reflective of the northern Italian regions.
“The food was delicious. The kale salad was exceptional. The said ink pasta was very good. The paparedelle was also really good. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable and welcoming. Great place.”
“Such a classic New York institution. My best friend has celebrated her birthday here for the past few years, and it’s always a great time. The food isn’t the main draw for me, but the atmosphere absolutely is—great energy, wine flowing, lots of laughter and conversation. They were also able to accommodate our group on relatively short notice, which we really appreciated. The staff is warm and attentive, and they plate dishes for the table, which adds to the experience. Overall, just a really solid spot.”
“Mr Frank was so accommodating and kind, an absolute pleasure to speak to! The waiting staff were superb (Jose and Franklin especially). The food was flawless and the atmosphere perfect. As our last night in NY we couldn’t be happier!”
“We had reservations here on a Sunday night. The restaurant was moderately busy, and we were seated upon arrival. Service was good and efficient. Ambiance was very pretty with dim, soft lighting. Dress code was very relaxed. We enjoyed the calamari appetizer, not breaded but grilled. I enjoyed the paparelle dish with sausage...large size and very flavorful. My husband's swordfish was, unfortunately, overcooked and a little dry. Overall, a good experience. Would definitely recommend.”
“Honestly cam here as a joke (because it was featured in SATC) and we were all pleasantly surprised! Food have might not be the best, but the portion was generous, and service was nice. atmosphere was great, but some people might think it is little old. Hey, but they have real flowers and it definitely felt like a classic new york. Highly recommend if you are looking for a casual dinner experience with nice old classic New York vibe with a good food!”
