“I came here as a walk-in for my birthday lunch on a Saturday. It was my first visit despite hearing amazing reviews and knowing Joe’s is a true Chicago staple. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. At the time, I was 28 weeks pregnant and following both a gluten-free and dairy-free diet. The manager and our server were incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating, offering thoughtful modifications and recommendations that fit my dietary needs without making me feel like an inconvenience. We were warmly greeted at the front door after valet parking and waited less than five minutes before being seated. When we arrived at our table, I was pleasantly surprised to find a sweet birthday card waiting for me. Our server recommended a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail and a pregnancy-friendly appetizer that was both gluten-free and dairy-free. Throughout the meal, we never felt rushed. The atmosphere was exactly what you’d expect from a classic steakhouse: elegant, lively, and bustling with attentive servers, yet never overwhelming or overstimulating. Every interaction felt genuine, and the level of hospitality stood out. My husband and I left feeling very well taken care of, and it’s easy to understand why Joe’s has earned its reputation as a Chicago institution. We look forward to returning.”

We finished the evening with the peanut butter pie, which is an absolute must-try. * Drinks: A fantastic bottle of sommelier-selected red wine elevated the entire meal. The service was impeccable throughout the entire evening. “This is my wife’s favorite restaurant and it’s quickly becoming one of mine as well. Classic old school Chicago vibes with the decor and atmosphere, nice comfortable full booth and table seating. Everything tastes fresh and has great texture and flavors. The daily lunch special 3 course meal is awesome and gives you so much value. Parking is across the street at the mall as well as the valet available at the corner.”

“If you grew up with the original Miami Beach location, stepping into Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab is a bit of a shock to the system. For starters, you aren't waiting three hours for a table, and there’s actually a cheeseburger on the menu. The host is clearly putting in the work to recreate that classic "original Joe’s" experience, and while the service is great, at this price point, that’s really the bare minimum you should be expecting. The bread basket is dangerous—delicious and timed perfectly to arrive right as you start to wonder if you should have ordered more. Of course, the stone crabs are the main event, and they’re conveniently cracked for you, which is a nice touch if you prefer your dinner without a side of manual labor. If you’re leaning toward land, the petite filet is a decent size, perfectly seasoned, and actually arrived cooked to the requested temp. While they’re famous for their hash browns, if the sweet corn is on the specials menu, do yourself a favor and order it. The crab cakes are also worth mentioning; they are incredibly thick and actually stuffed with crab rather than breading filler. For dessert, they’re known for that mouth-puckering Key Lime pie, which is as delightful as advertised, but don’t sleep on the peanut butter pie. It’s exceptionally creamy, impressively tall, and will likely be the thing that finally finishes you off.”
